May National Clothing PPI Fell 0.6% CPI, Down 0.4%

According to the National Bureau of statistics, the producer price index (PPI) of industrial producers fell by 3.7% in May 2020, down 0.4% from the same month. Producer prices fell by 5.1% year-on-year in the producer price of industrial producers, a 0.6 percentage point increase from last month, and a drop of about 3.79 percentage points to the total level of producer prices. The price of living goods rose by 0.5% over the same period last year, or 0.4 percentage points lower than that of the previous month, affecting the total producer price level of industrial producers by about 0.14 percentage points. Among them, clothing prices fell by 0.6%, and general commodity prices fell by 0.2%.

Producer prices in industrial producer prices fell by 0.5%, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points from last month, and the total level of producer prices dropped by about 0.36 percentage points. The price of living goods decreased by 0.3%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from last month, and the total level of producer prices dropped by about 0.07 percentage points. Among them, the prices of clothing and general necessities decreased by 0.1%.

In May, the national consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.4%, up 0.9 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, clothing prices fell by 0.4%.
