Recently, Baishi Group officially launched the door-to-door delivery service from China to Southeast Asia. At present, the service has covered five countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and Singapore, and more regions will be covered next.
Prior to this, Baishi announced that it had fully started express business in Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia, and planned to build 7 transit centers and 270 express delivery stations in Malaysia in the next three years.
This means that Baishi is increasing its overseas market. In fact, Baishi is not the first enterprise aiming at overseas market. Nowadays, the price war in domestic express industry is becoming more and more cruel. A group of data from the State Post Office shows that from 2007 to 2019, the unit price of express delivery dropped from 28.5 yuan / piece to 11.8 yuan / piece.
Express companies also do not want to end the price war. At the beginning of May, after Tongda announced the price adjustment, it changed its face collectively and even cancelled the price adjustment announcement. This trial ended in vain, exposing the sticky state of price war behind the scenes of the industry.
In this context, SF, Tongda and other express giants pay more and more attention to the development of overseas business. In March this year, China Express opened a special line for land transportation between Cambodia and Vietnam, and held a foundation laying ceremony for overseas warehouses in July; Shentong international actively promoted the construction of global overseas warehouses this year, and planned to add 40 overseas warehouses. Yuantong opened new Southeast Asian international freight routes from May to June.
But is overseas market necessarily easier to develop than domestic market? Not at all. When domestic express companies go out to sea, there are three mountains that are doomed to go around: UPS, DHL and FedEx.
Because the advantages of the three express giants in localization, air cargo capacity, capital and so on are hard to be achieved by Tongda enterprises in a short time.
To this end, "group to sea" has become the key point for Chinese express enterprises to seize food in Hukou, and national policies are also constantly guiding this point. Ma Junsheng, director of the State Post Bureau, once encouraged express enterprises to go out to sea in groups on many important public occasions - "encouraging enterprises to integrate resources and jointly build and share in channel network, cargo organization, air transport capacity, etc.".
On March 18, Ma Junsheng once again mentioned in a signed article published in the learning times that "we should go out to sea in groups. We will encourage express enterprises and e-commerce enterprises to go out to sea hand in hand. Through strategic alliances with overseas logistics, freight forwarders and express companies, investment and M & A, we will unblock all kinds of channels, especially special line channels, speed up the construction of overseas warehouses, and gradually realize overtaking on curves. "
Surprisingly, the leaders of express enterprises have also expressed their approval of the strategy of "going out to sea in groups". In 2017, Nie Tengyun, chairman of Yunda express, said that in terms of overseas layout, franchised express enterprises have more advantages in expanding, and hope that we can join forces to participate in globalization.
Yu weijiao, chairman of Yuantong express, also said that in recent years, Yuantong has carried out some layout in terms of internationalization. In the future, we can cooperate with each other in cross-border customs affairs and core logistics facilities, so as to have more advantages.
In 2019, Lai Meisong, chairman of China express, said that it is a grand goal for China express to march forward to the world stage along the "belt and road" related countries. The realization of this goal can not be achieved by a single express enterprise alone, but must "go out to sea together" and cooperate with each other. Yang Tianping, senior vice president of SF express, also believes: "the most suitable way for China express to" go out "is to" go out in groups. "
With the policy guidance, the leaders of the enterprises also agreed. Only when the policies are implemented in specific actions, we still accelerate the implementation and implementation in their own ways. At present, Shentong is trying to deeply explore the European and American markets. China Telecom is in Cambodia, Baishi is in Thailand, and SF is in the United States. It does not show the meaning of "going out to sea together".
