    In May, Retail Sales Of Textile, Clothing And Footwear Stopped Falling And Rose By 130.7% Month On Month

    EU The Statistics Bureau released the EU retail sales data for may on July 6. According to the data, the retail sales of EU goods increased by 16.4% month on month in May, with a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%. After 54.2% and 51.5% respectively in March and April, the retail sales of textile and clothing and footwear surged 130.7% in May, but still decreased by 47.5% year on year.

    In addition, according to the office for National Statistics (ONS), retail sales of textiles, clothing and footwear in the UK hit the bottom in May, with a month on month increase of 17.6% and a year-on-year decrease of 61.3%.

    The main retail industries in the EU in May are as follows:

    Food, beverage and tobacco: up 2.1% month on month and 4.1% year on year.

    Non food products (except automobile fuel): increased by 30.2% month on month and decreased by 6.9% year on year.

    Textile, clothing and footwear: increased by 130.7% month on month and decreased by 47.5% year on year.

    Electronic products and furniture: a month on month increase of 32.1%, a year-on-year decrease of 9.8%.

    Computer equipment, books and others: up 24.4% month on month, down 23% year on year.

    Pharmaceutical products: increased by 3.1% month on month and decreased by 6.3% year on year.

    Mail order and Internet goods: up 4.7% month on month and 32.9% year on year.

    Exclusive automobile fuel stores: increased by 31.9% month on month and decreased by 24.3% year on year.

      ●All Saints

      ●H&M

    Arcadia group, the parent company of Topshop, will cut about 500 of the 2500 jobs in its headquarters as its brand performance was hit hard by the suspension of physical retail during the outbreak. Although its stores in the UK have opened, they still can't make up for the loss caused by the sharp decrease of tourists.
