Wool Related International Standard ISO 2647:2020 Officially Released

Therefore, China takes the lead in proposing a comprehensive revision of ISO 2647:1973.

During the drafting process of the standard, the researchers comprehensively analyzed the current situation of wool fibers in the main wool producing countries. In the actual production and processing process, some fibers in the pulp fiber of wool still retain a certain degree of strength and toughness, and have certain use value; while some fibers are coarse and brittle, which have lost the use value, and will seriously affect the subsequent processing quality such as printing and dyeing, so only The total content of myelinated fibers is far from enough. According to the opinions of many rounds of voting of ISO member states, after the discussion and consultation of WG meeting of working group, the definition and classification of wool myelinated fiber are defined and classified. Through the technical parameters of quantitative differentiation, the classification and detection of myelinated fiber are carried out. The test data provided from this will have more guiding value for production, processing and testing.

The release of the standard further improves and unifies the global testing standards in this field, which helps to avoid or reduce the economic losses caused by the difference of test results due to different testing methods.
