Ministry Of Commerce: The Actual Use Of Foreign Capital In August Increased By 18.7% Year On Year

China's actual use of foreign capital reached 84.13 billion yuan in August, up 18.7% year-on-year, the Ministry of Commerce announced on the 11th. For the fifth consecutive month, the amount of foreign capital absorbed increased in a single month.

Data show that from January to August this year, the actual use of foreign capital in China reached 619.78 billion yuan, an increase of 2.6% over the same period last year. In August, the actual use of foreign capital was 84.13 billion yuan, up 18.7% year on year.

In terms of industries, from January to August, the actual use of foreign capital in the service industry was 476.61 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1% over the same period of last year; and the high-tech service industry increased by 28.2% year-on-year. Among them, information services, R & D and design services, professional technical services and transformation services of scientific and technological achievements increased by 24%, 47.3%, 111.4% and 20.2% respectively.

Among the major sources of investment, the actual amount of foreign investment in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands increased by 10%, 8.9%, 17.2% and 73.6% respectively from January to August.
