On January 11, the national cotton industry chain double cycle Summit Forum was held in Sanya. Cotton breeding experts and cotton related entrepreneurs gathered to discuss the construction of a national platform for cotton scientific research achievements transformation in Sanya. It is reported that the national cotton industry alliance was officially launched in Sanya during the forum. 208 alliance enterprises will take advantage of Hainan free trade port's unique policy advantages and Sanya's unique advantages in cultivating new cotton varieties to promote the development and reprocessing of scientific and technological products in the whole cotton industry chain, and promote the commercial operation through Hainan free trade port.
It is understood that the national cotton industry alliance was established in Beijing in 2016, and its members include national cotton "scientific research, production, processing, circulation, textile and clothing" and other related advantageous units in the whole industry chain.
"Hainan has the advantages of cotton variety cultivation and free trade port policy, which is the driving force for the national cotton industry alliance to materialize in Sanya." Wang Jinhua, vice president of the national cotton industry alliance and chairman of the National Cotton Technology Co., Ltd., said that Sanya has provided a unique environment for the cultivation of cotton varieties, and the high-quality cotton varieties cultivated by Sanya have also brought scientific and technological support to the cotton back-end enterprises. "The promotion of the construction of Hainan free trade port and the improvement of business environment in Sanya are very attractive to enterprises in the whole cotton industry chain."
Zhang Xiling, deputy director of the Cotton Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that the national cotton industry alliance landing in Sanya can combine scientific research and industry, promote the local transformation of scientific research achievements, realize the southern propagation, and make contributions to Hainan Rural Revitalization and social and economic development.
