The Video Conference Of The Board Of Directors Of The International Textile Federation Decided To Postpone The 2021 Annual Meeting To April 2022

On June 9, the video conference of the board of directors of the International Federation of textile manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as "IFN") was held at 18:00 Beijing time. Members of the board of directors and former chairman of IFLA attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by sun Ruizhe, chairman of the International Textile Federation and President of the China Textile Industry Federation. It was decided that the 2021 annual meeting of the International Textile Federation in Davos, Switzerland, should be postponed to April 10-12, 2022.

Xu Yingxin and Yang Zhaohua, vice presidents of China Textile Federation, Yuan Hongping, deputy secretary general and director of Foreign Affairs Office of China Textile Federation, Yan Yan, director of social responsibility office, and Liu Yaozhong, deputy director of international trade office, attended the meeting.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference, sun Ruizhe said that three major changes are taking place in the current world economy, from deep recession to economic recovery, accelerated digital transformation, and to low-carbon and coordinated economic growth with nature. He also focused on the situation of China's textile industry: at present, China's textile industry is steadily improving, and the industrial chain is gradually recovering, The new business model (cross-border e-commerce and live broadcast economy) accelerated the rebound of consumer market. In the first quarter of 2021, nearly half (46.4%) of textile enterprises and nearly two-thirds (63.6%) of clothing enterprises have recovered to their pre epidemic level.

Sun Ruizhe pointed out that as an important force to promote the economic development of the industry, the current role of the International Textile Federation is mainly focused on:

First, based on the current situation, to form a joint force for industry recovery. As countries look forward to economic recovery, the focus will be on two priorities: growth and employment. Textile industry is related to the national economy and people's livelihood, especially in emerging economies, and is an important engine of economic growth and employment. The International Textile Federation should give full play to its own advantages, promote the industrial policy docking and practice integration, ensure the stable and smooth supply chain value chain and the effective operation of enterprises, so as to stimulate growth and create employment.

Second, focus on the long-term and shape the future of the industry. We should not only promote short-term recovery, but also lay a solid foundation for more sustainable and inclusive industrial economic development in the next few years. At present, the International Textile Federation should improve its membership service at home, show its image and spread its voice. FIFA should give full play to the advantages of resources and talents to shape the future of itself and our industry.

Sun Ruizhe finally said: "on June 11, the China Textile Industry Federation will officially release the development outline of China's textile industry during the 14th Five Year Plan period (2021-2025). This also makes me realize that what the International Textile Federation has done in the past and now is not a plan, but to guide the development of textile all over the world. Let's be proud of that! "

The meeting also discussed the International Textile Federation awards, cooperation with the organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD), and the Asian Regional Sustainable Textile Industry Network (star network).

The former president of the International Textile Federation, Bashar (Pakistan), JAS Bedi (Kenya) and Cheng Qihe (South Korea) attended the meeting.

The meeting decided that the next video conference of the board of directors would be held in August or September 2021.
