The collection of silk cocoons from producers began at the end of January with the aim of obtaining about 15 tons of wet cocoons from 25 provinces. The ability to extract 1200 to 1600 meters of silk from a Turkish cocoon has attracted the attention of Turkic countries as well as China, Iran and India.

So far, we have delivered 13 tons of fresh cocoons to the cooperatives and collected 13.5 tons of fresh cocoons last year. Our goal is to increase production by 2021. They are packaged and ready for sale. Now we put the cocoons we received from the producers on the shelves and wait for them to dry. They will stay on the shelf until the end of September. The cocoon has to be stirred constantly to prevent mildew. We will start packing them at the end of September. "

Kozabirlik continues to work on exports.

The 1200 to 1600 meters of silk extracted from our cocoons is a very healthy and durable fiber. High quality Turkish cocoons and silk have many buyers in many countries such as China, Iran, India and Uzbekistan. In the first half of 2021, we exported 14 tons of dried cocoons to China and Iran. "

"Although feeding silkworms once a year seems like an extra income for producers, feeding silkworms for a short period of time like a month will bring good income," gezenji further explained.
