The Second Failure Of Star Glory Self Research Rocket In The Year
At about 15:00 on August 3, the third commercial launch vehicle of hyperbola No.1, which was the first private rocket to orbit, ignited and lifted off at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. However, since then, the rocket flew abnormally, and the satellite carried by the rocket failed to enter orbit normally after separation, and the flight test failed.
This is hyperbola-1, which failed to launch again after February this year. On February 1, the hyperbola-1 yao-2 carrier rocket was launched in Jiuquan. Since then, the rocket flew abnormally and the launch mission failed.
Star arrow hyperbola 1 failed to launch
At noon on August 4, interstellar glory released the test mission statement on official wechat, saying that the solid motor, liquid attitude and orbit control power, navigation guidance and control of the hyperbolic remote-5 rocket launched on the afternoon of August 3 were working normally, the separation of all levels and the separation of star and rocket were normal, and the flight sequence was basically consistent with the theoretical time sequence.
However, because the fairing failed to separate normally and the rocket could not be sent into the scheduled 500 km SSO (sun synchronous orbit), the flight test did not achieve the expected purpose.
Interstellar glory said that the launch verified the correctness of the overall scheme of the hyperbola-1 rocket, obtained effective flight data and accumulated valuable experience and lessons.
Hyperbola-1 is a star rocket in the field of domestic private commercial aerospace. It is designed and developed by star glory, a private commercial aerospace head enterprise. It is a four stage small solid launch vehicle. The four stages are solid motors supplemented by liquid attitude control motors. Hyperbola No. 1 has a diameter of 1.4 meters, a total length of 24 meters, a total mass of about 42 tons, and a takeoff thrust of 770 kn.
According to interstellar glory, the carrying capacity of hyperbola-1 in 500 km solar synchronous orbit is more than 300 kg, and that of 700 km sun synchronous orbit is 225 kg.
As of early August 2021, China's private commercial aerospace sector has carried out six attempts to launch launch launch vehicles into orbit. Except for the third and fourth successful attempts, the remaining four have failed.
In October 2018 and March 2019, blue arrow's zhuque-1 solid launch vehicle and zero one space's os-m solid carrier rocket failed to launch into orbit.
In July 2019, the hyperbola-1 remote-1 carrier rocket was launched for the first time in Jiuquan, and several satellites and payloads were put into the scheduled orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
This success also made hyperbola-1 and Starcraft glory successfully out of the circle, causing wide attention from all walks of life. With the success of this launch, star glory has become the first domestic and the third private rocket enterprise in the world to realize rocket launching into orbit.
In November 2020, another private rocket enterprise, Xinghe power, launched its self-developed commercial solid carrier rocket "gushen-1 (yao-1) Jianyang" into space, and carried satellites to precise orbit. As a result, Xinghe power has become the second private rocket enterprise to successfully launch the rocket into orbit.
The fifth and sixth private rocket launches were launched in February and August of the year.
Fierce momentum hits the science and Technology Innovation Board
In 2015, a number of relevant departments successively issued policies to support the development of commercial aerospace. Talents and technologies within the domestic aerospace industry system began to enter the market. A number of start-up companies focusing on commercial rockets and micro satellites were established, and the domestic commercial aerospace industry began to develop vigorously.
In January 2016, star glory was officially established in Yizhuang, Beijing. Its main business direction is to develop commercial launch vehicles and provide launch services.
Since its establishment, star glory has developed rapidly. At present, the R & D and launch of hyperbola-1, a small solid carrier rocket, has been completed, and hyperbola-2, a reusable liquid carrier rocket, is being developed and designed. In addition, star glory also has reusable, variable thrust liquid rocket engine focus 1, 100 ton reusable, variable thrust liquid oxygen methane engine focus 2 and other products.
In the process of development, star glory is also favored by capital. In August 2020, star glory completed a round B financing of RMB 1.192.5 billion, which broke the record of the largest single financing in the domestic commercial aerospace field.
In January 2021, according to information on the official website of Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau, star glory plan was listed on the science and technology innovation board, and Tianfeng securities and CITIC Securities acted as guidance agencies. If the listing is successful, star glory is expected to become the first private rocket in China.
Commercial aerospace is a capital intensive enterprise, which needs a lot of funds to support the technology research and development and operation team. Up to now, the total investment in China's private commercial aerospace field has reached nearly 10 billion yuan. If we say that at the beginning of the development of private commercial aerospace, capital is still in the stage of spreading net and testing water. Now, capital has begun to select investment objects strictly, and the financing scale of head enterprises has begun to shake off the position of the latter.
In addition to star glory, blue arrow aerospace and Star River power are also strong competitors in the field of private rocket. In 2020, the above three enterprises will receive a total of 2.6 billion yuan in financing, setting a new financing record in the history of domestic private commercial aerospace development.
Compared with the mature and developed state-owned aerospace industry and space X company of the United States, China's private commercial aerospace industry started relatively late and has made a series of achievements. At the same time, it is still in the stage of difficult exploration and development. After several successful sub orbital rocket launch tests, the whole industry is facing the difficulty of rocket into orbit, which needs to be overcome.
Industry insiders said that for the private rocket industry, in addition to the R & D and design of individual technologies and products, rocket development and launch are also faced with quality control problems of thousands of parts. How to build a stable supply chain suitable for their own enterprises is a problem that private enterprises need to face.
