The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) released a monthly report that the US cotton export data suggested that the global logistics situation may be improving. After experiencing the long and painful impact of the new crown epidemic, the global cotton transportation problem may gradually begin to straighten out. We can't be 100% sure that things will change in the near future, because we can't judge by US export data alone.
Compared with most other countries, the United States has a greater ability to make changes, so not all regions can recover rapidly, but the United States is the world's largest cotton exporter, so it can play a role in the global cotton transportation and logistics.
As 2021 / 22 draws to a close, consumption remains strong. The latest report shows that global cotton consumption is 26.16 million tons. The output was slightly lower than the previous report, but remained at 26.43 million tons, which was still enough to meet the consumption demand. Looking at the global supply and demand data, we do see a small shortage of supply. At present, the global supply is 57.129 million tons and the demand is 57.133 million tons.
The ICAC's current price forecast range for the 2021 / 22 average a index is 106-126 cents, with a median of 113 cents per pound.
