Nurjin mamazanov, business counselor of Uzbekistan, presided over the forum.
Establish the development goal of the whole industry chain
Uzbekistan is an important country along the belt and road initiative. According to Chinese customs statistics, in 2021, China's textile and clothing trade with Uzbekistan totaled 1.52 billion US dollars. Among them, China's textile exports to Ukraine amounted to 850 million US dollars, mainly made up of semi-finished products such as fabrics, accounting for more than 70%; US $670 million was imported from Uzbekistan; Almost all cotton yarn. Uzbekistan is one of China's major yarn import countries, ranking the fourth largest source of China's Yarn Import for consecutive years. In 2021, China imports 259000 tons of yarn from Ukraine, accounting for 10% of China's total Yarn Import. In the past five years, China's yarn imports from Ukraine have continued to grow, the trade volume has doubled, and the average annual growth rate has exceeded 30%. The bilateral cooperation has great potential for growth.
Uzbekistan ambassador to China fahod arziev congratulated the opening of the forum. He expressed the hope that with the help of the influence and resources of the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce in the industry, attract more Chinese funded companies to invest in Uzbekistan, help Uzbekistan achieve the development goal of establishing a whole industrial chain in the field of textile and clothing, and further promote bilateral industrial cooperation of various modes to achieve win-win development.
Irhom khaydarov, President of Uzbekistan textile and garment industry association, introduced the foreign trade situation and industrial advantages of Uzbekistan's textile and garment industry. He said that Uzbekistan's textile and clothing industry has great development potential in the Eurasian market. The two governments have been discussing simplifying business policies, attaching importance to international standards and certification, improving the scientific production of organic cotton, paying attention to the training of talents, especially the management, and striving to build a textile complex. In addition, Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the cotton traceability mechanism, actively participates in the international market, actively participates in international exhibitions, holds large-scale investment forums, and publicizes Uzbekistan's textile industry policies and development opportunities.
When it comes to "one of China's import and export partners along the Silk Road, caochang is one of China's import and export partners. In recent years, China Uzbekistan economic and trade cooperation has maintained a good momentum of development, the bilateral cooperation mechanism has been improved, the trade scale has been continuously expanded, and the investment cooperation has been steadily promoted. The bilateral economic and trade cooperation has great development potential. Through this forum, we hope to further strengthen policy communication, promote enterprise exchanges, enrich cooperation models, expand cooperation fields, and promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Ukraine's textile and garment industry.
Great potential of international trade in cotton yarn
The forum provides new ideas for China's textile and garment enterprises to explore the emerging markets of the "belt and road" and expand yarn import business.
Lin Hua, vice president of yarn branch of China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce and general manager of Xinjiang branch of Shanghai Oriental International Group, introduced that Dongfang International Group has 150 years of textile industry development history and 70 years of international trade experience, and is the largest textile and clothing import and export enterprise in China. Shanghai Textile (Xinjiang) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Orient International, is the most representative and excellent company to expand the regional business of "one belt and one road". Through the integration of high-quality resources in Central Asia, giving full play to China's market advantages and professional technology empowerment, Xinjiang company has formed the core import business of Uzbek cotton yarn. Under the strategy of "global layout and transnational operation" of Orient International, Xinjiang company and Uzbek textile enterprises have achieved fruitful results in recent years.
Lin Hua said that since 2016, Oriental International Xinjiang company has started to carry out cotton yarn procurement business in Uzbekistan, and has in-depth cooperation with first-class enterprises such as uztex. The annual cotton yarn purchase volume of a single enterprise has reached more than 500 containers. In the face of the situation that Uzbekistan's medium and low-end yarns are exported to China in large quantities, Xinjiang company develops a new cooperation Road, adheres to the development direction of medium and high-end yarns, formulates the quality standard of "SOA super grade yarn", and improves the added value of Uzbekistan cotton yarn. Thanks to the quality advantage of SOA cotton yarn, during the epidemic period, the export volume of SOA cotton yarn to China increased by more than 30%, and the average price per kilogram was 20 cents higher than that of similar products. Last year, Xinjiang company further expanded the scale and influence of medium and high-end Ukrainian yarn, and exported Uzbekistan cotton yarn to Myanmar, Bangladesh and other Southeast Asian markets through the re export trade of sea rail intermodal transportation, making Uzbekistan SOA yarn not only meet the demand of China's high-end market, but also go to other international markets.
This year, Oriental International Xinjiang company and Uzbekistan textile enterprises have the following three ideas: first, strive to maintain the stability of the procurement chain. Xinjiang company will further deepen the cooperation with Ukraine textile enterprises and increase the purchase quantity of high-quality cotton yarn from Uzbekistan on the basis of mutual benefit. At the same time, Xinjiang company hopes to establish contact with more excellent textile enterprises in Uzbekistan, jointly build a new fixed-point SOA cotton yarn processing base, and promote the export of Ukraine textiles to China. The second is to reduce intermediate links and realize a more convenient supply chain. Relying on the "China Europe Train Shanghai" in the operation of Orient International, this paper explores the construction possibility of China Uzbekistan return transit train, and puts forward a stable and sustainable regional supply chain scheme. Through the form of re export trade, continue to promote Uzbekistan's textiles to Southeast Asia and global markets. Third, from point to surface, looking for more partners in the textile field of Ukraine. Xinjiang company welcomes more Uzbekistan textile, weaving, clothing, brand and other fields of enterprises, to explore cooperation opportunities. At the same time, it is also willing to help Ukrainian enterprises better integrate into the Chinese market through platforms such as the Fifth China Import Expo.
The paper introduced the technical advantages of China Uzbekistan Textile Co., Ltd. in terms of investment in textile equipment.
Industrial cooperation to a deeper level
Cao Jiachang also mentioned at the forum that since 2021, the global epidemic situation has intensified, the recovery of the world economy is still uncertain, and the global industrial chain and supply chain have exposed vulnerability under the impact of the epidemic. Although China's textile industry has overcome many difficulties in the upstream and downstream of the textile industry, it has still achieved good results. In March this year, at the "China Uzbekistan investment cooperation forum", the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce and the Uzbekistan textile and Garment Industry Association officially signed a cooperation agreement, aiming to help the industries of the two countries deepen mutual trust and understanding, and promote enterprises to carry out cooperation. The holding of this forum is not only a practical action to promote bilateral investment cooperation, but also a concrete implementation of the early signed agreements.
At the forum, China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce and Uzbekistan textile and garment industry association also signed a memorandum of understanding on textile industry cooperation. The signing of the Mou marks that China and Uzbekistan will further carry out all-round, multi-level and institutionalized cooperation in the field of textiles in the future.
