　　 Li Lingshen first welcomed Sam Allen and his delegation, and said that the development of China's geotechnical construction materials industry benefited from China's infrastructure construction and the promotion of major projects. At present, the "Belt and Road" market has become a new engine for the development of China's geotechnical and construction textiles. At the same time, the continuous expansion of application fields and the continuous innovation of technical processes are also important factors to promote the rapid development of the industry. In the future, it is hoped that both sides can strengthen exchanges and cooperation to jointly promote the development of the industry.

Geotextiles and construction textiles are the key development fields of the industry. In 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on the High Quality Development of Industrial Textiles, which proposed five key tasks of scientific and technological innovation, structural upgrading, integration of industrialization and industrialization, green development, and standard guidance, The key areas of geotextiles for construction were identified, which injected a boost to the development of the industry.

IGS has a 40 year history of development and is committed to the research and engineering development of geotextiles, geomembranes and their related composite products and related technologies. Over the years, it has actively carried out professional training, technical exchanges, academic forums and other work, and has established academic exchange platforms such as professional journals and digital libraries. At present, IGS is expanding from academic research to industrial application, while actively strengthening the extension of the industrial chain, focusing on the sustainable development of the industry, and striving to create a credible and internationally influential society.

　　 Nie Songlin mainly introduced the development status and trend of China's geotechnical building materials. He said that in terms of geotechnical materials, China is a major producer of polyester, and polyester products will still be the mainstream of the future geotechnical materials market. Among them, the application of filament polyester geotextiles accounts for a low proportion at present, with a growing trend. Secondly, polypropylene geotextile has better chemical erosion resistance. At present, China has a certain production capacity, but there is still much room for improvement. Third, in order to meet the needs of the project, geotechnical materials are developing towards geotextile and geogrid composites. Fourthly, polyester high-strength two-component geotextile has good tensile, tear resistance, air permeability and water permeability, and is widely used in drainage board membrane for soft foundation treatment; In terms of building materials, polyester filament waterproof tire base cloth is an important building textile, with huge domestic production and consumption. Among them, the glass fiber reinforced polyester filament composite tire base fabric further strengthens the product performance and is more widely used. Secondly, the polyester/polyester and polyester/polyamide thick denier high strength two-component tire base fabric with hot air bonding process will be the fifth generation product in the future, with high strength, good width, no dipping, and thin shape.

　　 Yang Yaolin, deputy director of the International Exchange Department of the Association, introduced the standards of geosynthetics in China. Geosynthetics have stepped onto the track of rapid and standardized development in China from new product research and development to engineering application and market promotion. In December 2018, the Association was approved as a domestic technology counterpart of the Technical Committee for Geosynthetics of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 221), and established a domestic technology counterpart working group covering key industrial production enterprises, application enterprises, testing and certification institutions, research institutes and universities. In 2019, the Association hosted the 16th plenary meeting of ISO/TC 221 and working group meetings, At present, 12 domestic experts have been recommended to participate in the specific work of each working group as registered experts of ISO/TC 221, and vote on the standards and resolutions under development of ISO/TC 221 on behalf of China, or put forward suggestions for formulation and revision.
