From July 14 to 16, the review of "Haining Home Textile Cup" 2023 China International Home Textiles Creative Design Competition was successfully completed. The theme of this "Haining Home Textile Cup" competition is "the realm of nature". Taking nature as the design root, it emphasizes that creative design must present an artistic realm integrating truth, goodness and beauty.
The competition was divided into the home textile creative painting group and the overall soft decoration design group, which received 1883 and 693 entries, 122 and 48 entries respectively. After review, the home textile creative painting team has won 1 gold prize, 3 silver prizes, 5 bronze prizes, 7 jury awards, 20 excellent awards and several shortlisted awards; One gold award, three silver awards, five bronze awards, five jury awards, 20 excellent awards and several shortlisted awards were born in the overall soft decoration design team. Continue to expand dimensions, dig depth and improve practicability
The lineup of judges who served as the judges for this review included home textile design experts from industry associations, colleges and enterprises. In the eyes of the judges, the expressiveness of many works let them see the future of the design industry. For example, most of the entries closely follow the development rhythm of the times and focus on the key words such as green, environmental protection and humanities. The contestants have absorbed the nutrients of Chinese traditional culture, and are no longer limited to figurative or symbolic expression, but spread branches and leaves to integrate spirit and culture into the design works.
"We should be more practical, reflect the details, dig deeply into the culture, and hit the consumer pain points..." At the same time, many problems are accompanied by it.
"We hope to see a more practical and market-oriented scheme, and suggest that the contestants can add more products with texture and can show the details of patterns." Qiao Zhenguo, executive general manager of Zhejiang Zhiju Soft Garment Design Co., Ltd. and secretary-general of Beijing Home Textile Association, suggested.
When it comes to design, it cannot be separated from the market. "I think designers should have a keen design vision, understand market demand, and integrate artistry into products to meet the actual needs of target customers." Fang Guohai, General Manager of Haining Lunbo Textile Co., Ltd., Vice President of Haining Home Textile Association, and Vice President of Haining Xucun Fashion Industry New Generation Federation, said.
Wu Jing, director of the design department of Joyful Home Textile Co., Ltd., holds the same view. She believes that at a time when consumers are paying more and more attention to the decorative tonality and fashion degree of products, entries should start from the perspective of consumers, combine market trends and popular elements, dig deep into user needs and solve product pain points.
Yu Chunbo, director of product research and development and assistant manager of Binzhou Yaguang Home Textile Co., Ltd., also mentioned that, as far as the exhibition of works seen at present, most of the works still stay in the exhibition of the overall creative concept, and have not really connected with the product application. In the future, I hope the contestants will think more about the application link.
Let the contestants participate in the follow-up actual combat - Zhang Xiaoliang, the design director of Beijing Adier Architectural Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. and the outstanding figure of the year of the Golden Hall Award of the Year of Chinese Design in 2020, proposed a new idea, hoping that the future entries can further expand the space type, further explore the adaptability of soft decoration works, Or relatively define several space types with limited conditions, and on this basis, the contestants will carry out soft decoration design and improve their ability to approach actual combat.
It is suggested that contestants should make more efforts in terms of integrity, matching, realizability, layout design, etc. Wen Run, a professor of the Textile College of Donghua University, mentioned that many works impressed him deeply. Among them, there are expressions that convey the concepts of nature, green and environmental protection, and there are also witty ideas that combine traditional culture with the concept of "meta universe". "My criterion is to see whether the contestants can express good ideas, and whether the results can hit the hearts of people."
