Before the Dragon Boat Festival, the reporter received an interview mission to Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province. Liaoyuan is the only industrial cluster of China's textile industry in Jilin Province. When talking about Liaoyuan's tax industry, the reporter immediately came up with the image of Dong Wenxi, who is a meritorious figure in China's knitting industry. Since there has been no contact in the past ten years, the reporter contacted Dong Wenxi through Huang Xia in the Northeast Tax Industry Park. Dong Wenxi, who is over 80 years old, is hale and hearty.
Over 60 years old, ignite a spark
So far, in Liaoyuan City, Dong Wenxi's contribution to regional economic development has been a topic both inside and outside the industry. Dong Wenxi was born in 1942, and his ancestors stayed in Liaoyuan. In the past, Liaoyuan was mainly engaged in light textile industry, known as the "Little Shanghai" in Northeast China. Dong Wenxi was one of the first students in Liaoyuan City to learn sock weaving technology in Shanghai. He was born wise and soon became the workshop director.
In the 1980s and 1990s, with the deepening of reform and opening up, the original production system of state-owned enterprises did not adapt to the general trend of economic development, and the benefits declined significantly. Dong Wenxi, the workshop director, suddenly became laid-off workers. After being laid off, his family's life was hopeless. As the saying goes, there is always a way before the car reaches the mountain. In desperation, he relied on his own skills to start his own business. Looking back at the original image of entrepreneurship, he said: "An old man, a group of children, rent a bathhouse and weave socks together".
The difficulties of entrepreneurship soon passed, followed by the spring of enterprises. At that time, it was a shortage economy, and the supply of shortage economy products was in short supply. He seized the opportunity to win the order for military socks through bidding. The specific materials and patterns of the military socks are provided by the other party, who only needs to process them. Since then, it has opened the door to the rapid development of enterprises. Later, he merged Liaoyuan No. 2 Knitting Factory, where he had worked for most of his life. At its peak, the enterprise had more than 500 hosiery looms, nearly 1000 workers and an annual output value of nearly 100 million yuan.
On Dong Wenxi's day, sesame blossoms high and high. At that time, the government was also looking for a way out for laid-off workers because Liaoyuan coal mine resources were exhausted. "A single flower is not a spring, and the garden is full of colorful spring". Dong Wenxi, who has a big mind, led everyone to weave socks. The enterprise is developing better and better, and gradually becomes one of the local famous enterprises, which has attracted the attention of the government. At that time, there were more than a dozen sock factories of all sizes in Liaoyuan. The development trend of leading enterprises gave hope to leaders in underdeveloped areas. Taking advantage of the situation, Dong Wenxi accompanied the relevant government departments to visit Datang Town, Zhejiang Province, and returned five times a year. Through exchanges and docking, Liaoyuan City decided to build a sock industrial park. In 2007, on a barren land outside Liaoyuan City, new factories sprang up. The government leased workshops to small and medium-sized enterprises and college students to start their own businesses. Dong Wenxi also bid farewell to the rented bathhouse, bought his own land, and built about 20000 square meters of workshops near the industrial park. Since then, Tianma socks industry has entered a new stage of development.
Old Ma never lost his ambition in his old age
Under Dong Wenxi's careful cultivation, Tianma's once glorious tax industry has more than 500 employees. Like the admirable Whampoa Military Academy, he has successfully cultivated a batch of entrepreneurs and college students. His nephew Bian Chunrong is one of the most outstanding.
The entrepreneur, who has entered 40 years old, was on the fifth floor of Building B of Northeast Tax Industrial Park when we saw him, concentrating on debugging equipment for a new enterprise. The owner of this new factory equipped with 600 intelligent integrated hosiery machines is Dong Wenxi's eldest daughter. Every time Bian Chunrong sees Dong Wenxi, his uncontrollable gratitude will naturally show. He always says with deep feelings: "Without my uncle, I would never be where I am today." Back in 2007, when he was only 17 years old, he stepped into the Tianma tax industry, initially working as a maintenance worker. After working hard in the maintenance position for a period of time, he found his uncle with a vision for the future and expressed his strong desire to change the type of work and devote himself to the sales field. With his enthusiasm for work and unique and profound understanding of the sock industry, Bian Chunrong, who has devoted himself to sales work, is very handy.
With the continuous improvement of his own ability, when he has the ability to fly alone like a bird with growing wings, it seems that it is only a matter of time before he chooses to fly alone. As a result, he boldly founded his own Baina Socks Industry Co., Ltd., whose sales volume of socks reached an astonishing 20 million pairs. Not only that, he also actively led other sock factories to carry out processing with materials. Under his enthusiastic encouragement, Dong Wenxi's daughter could not resist the impulse in her heart and was eager to try. Finally, the scene we see now came into being. Dong Wenxi looked at the rows of machines in his daughter's factory, as if they were soldiers waiting for review. He fondled these machines lovingly and said with great emotion, "From the original loom to the small computer, to the big computer, to the intelligent all-in-one machine today, the hosiery machine has developed greatly. The young generation is really lucky to catch up with such a beautiful era!"
In this process, Dong Wenxi, like a hardworking gardener, has carefully watered young people like Bian Chunrong with his knowledge, experience and wisdom to help them thrive. He not only gave Bian Chunrong career guidance, but also cultivated his enterprising spirit and tenacity. Under the influence of Dong Wenxi, Bian Chunrong gradually created his own world in the sock industry step by step. Human life is limited, and the sock industry is unlimited. In 2014, 73 year old Dong Wenxi handed over the enterprise to his family, and he turned to voluntary consulting and guidance. Although he is no longer in the middle of the stage, his proficiency and love for the sock industry has never decreased. He always pays close attention to the development of the industry, as if that is his concern that he will never give up.
It is gratifying that in the same year, he was named a meritorious figure in China's knitting industry by the China Knitting Industry Association. This honor is a high recognition of his years of hard work and outstanding contributions in the field of socks industry, and also adds a particularly dazzling luster to his life.
Dong Wenxi used his own actions to explain what is truly transparent. He went all out when it was time to fight, and never missed when it was time to let go. He knew that different stages of life had different missions and meanings. He knew to step back at an appropriate time to appreciate and enjoy another kind of scenery. This openness and wisdom made people have to admire.
