Global Perspective: Vietnam'S Clothing And Textile Exports To The EU Grew 9.6% In The First Nine Months Of This Year

Vietnam's Vietnam Net reported on October 31 that the EU is Vietnam's second largest clothing and textile export market after the United States. In the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam's clothing and textile exports to the EU reached nearly 3.08 billion dollars, up 9.6% year on year. The Netherlands and Germany are Vietnam's two major garment and textile consumption markets in the EU, accounting for 46.45% of Vietnam's total garment and textile exports to the EU. Among them, exports to the Netherlands exceeded 880 million US dollars, up 24.85% year on year, accounting for 28.34% of Vietnam's total exports of clothing and textiles to the EU; Exports to Germany reached US $560 million, a year-on-year decrease of 10.96%, accounting for 18.11%.

According to the report, the economic situation of the EU has begun to recover and its purchasing power has improved. It is expected that by the end of 2024, clothing and textile exports to the EU will resume significantly.

　　 According to Vietnam Economy, Vietnam's textile and clothing industry exports reached US $32.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024, up 9.2% year on year. Vietnam Textile and Garment Association believes that it is basically feasible for Vietnam's textile and garment industry to achieve the export target of 44 billion dollars by 2024.
