From relying on imports to achieving domestic autonomy and controllability, the technological innovation and industrialization acceleration of this industry are behind the efforts of countless scientists and entrepreneurs. Zhang Guoliang is undoubtedly the most shining star among them. Zhang Guoliang, an outstanding scientist from the grass-roots workshop, has made remarkable achievements in the field of carbon fiber step by step.
Zhang Guoliang, Chief Scientist of Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd. and Chief Scientist of Lianyungang Yingyou Textile Machinery Group Co., Ltd., has successively obtained undergraduate and doctoral degrees in Wuhan University of Technology. He led the team to undertake the national major "choke point" technology research mission, successfully broke through the technical bottleneck of high-strength carbon fiber preparation, and built the world's first 10000 ton industrial production base. The project was selected as one of the top ten super projects of central enterprises, which effectively guaranteed the national strategic needs. With this pioneering achievement, he has successively won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the leading talent of the National High level Talents Special Support Program, the Science and Technology Innovation Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation - Industrial Innovation Award, the National Outstanding Engineer and other national awards, and the first prize of the "Light of Textile" China Textile Industry Federation Science and Technology Progress Award, the Mulberry Scholar Award and other industry awards, It has achieved a leap forward breakthrough from technology research and development to industrial application.
Overcome difficulties and climb technical peaks
Zhang Guoliang first came into contact with carbon fiber in 2005, when China's carbon fiber industry was in an extremely difficult situation. Foreign countries not only restrict China's product supply, but also implement strict blockade in production technology, which seriously restricts the production of many high-tech products in China. In the face of such severe challenges and difficult situations, Zhang Guoliang, full of profound family and country feelings, resolutely proposed: "As an entrepreneur, we should have the sense of responsibility to take risks to share the country's worries! Even if we lose money, we should also create our own carbon fiber!"
However, the production process of carbon fiber is very complex. The production process involves more than 20 specialties, such as chemical industry, materials and machinery. It is possible to succeed only after understanding all specialties, understanding their principles, and connecting them. However, Zhang Guoliang was still involved in the industrialization of domestic carbon fiber in the midst of doubts.
After 20 years of unremitting efforts, Zhang Guoliang has made remarkable achievements. He led his team to break through the most advanced dry jet wet spinning process in the world carbon fiber field and successfully produce world-class carbon fiber. More importantly, he engineered this advanced technology and built a 10000 ton carbon fiber production line. Last year, Zhongfu Shenying produced more than 20000 tons of carbon fiber annually, accounting for 20% of the global carbon fiber production, becoming the largest carbon fiber production enterprise in China. At the end of this year, the 30000 ton production line will be put into production soon, and its carbon fiber production capacity will reach 60000 tons by then, which will become the main global carbon fiber supplier.
Sink in the front line and create brilliance with ingenuity
The road to research and development of carbon fiber is full of thorns and frustrations. Zhang Guoliang spent most of his time either in the laboratory or in the workshop. In his opinion, scientific research cannot be separated from the scene, and many problems can only be found on the scene, so as to find laws and solutions. This kind of communication mode full of warmth and wisdom has enabled team members to unite closely and overcome difficulties one after another.
In the process of transforming laboratory achievements into large-scale production lines, Zhang Guoliang is facing enormous challenges. Each link of a one kilometer long production line needs careful design and repeated tests. He led the team in the workshop to make progress step by step. It was this rich experience accumulated in the workshop that made him become a true "scientist coming out of the workshop".
Remarkable achievements, contributing to national development
At present, the team led by Zhang Guoliang has made remarkable achievements in the field of carbon fiber. In the production of high-performance carbon fiber, it has not only realized large-scale production, met the needs of domestic high-tech products, but also demonstrated strong competitiveness in the international market. Foreign carbon fiber production has grown slowly or even declined in recent years, while China's carbon fiber industry is developing rapidly, in which Zhang Guoliang's contribution is indispensable.
In terms of application, Zhang Guoliang has also done a lot of work. In high-end applications, such as China's large aircraft project, his carbon fiber and carbon fiber prepreg are playing an important role. In addition, in aerospace and other industries, carbon fiber is also increasingly widely used, contributing an important force to national development. At the same time, China's carbon fiber has begun to emerge in the new energy industry abroad, and will play a more important role in the world economy in the future.
Aim at the future and continue to write the textile legend
After graduating from university in 1982, Zhang Guoliang was assigned to Lianyungang Textile Machinery Factory, where he started his textile career. Zhang Guoliang is proud of being a weaver: "Although the textile industry is an ancient industry, its technical requirements are not low at all. The manufacturing process from fiber to textile is very complex, requiring superb technology and exquisite workmanship." Under his leadership, Lianyungang Textile Machinery Factory has done a lot of research on textile finishing equipment and complete chemical fiber production technology, It has made great contributions to the development of the textile industry. Moreover, his in-depth research on chemical fiber production equipment has also become his unique advantage in developing carbon fiber equipment.
Although China's textile industry has strong competitiveness in the world, Zhang Guoliang believes that the development of the industry is still endless. He will continue to shine in the textile industry, especially in the field of carbon fiber. His laboratory has gathered the world's top experimental equipment, and the team members are all elites who have profound theoretical and practical experience after years of tempering. He set a goal for the new generation of carbon fiber: to increase the strength and performance by 30% on the basis of the current highest level. He firmly believes that the next generation of carbon fiber will play a more revolutionary role, and the research of himself and his team has a promising future.
In retrospect, Zhang Guoliang sighed that the "Light of Textile" Science and Technology Award of China Textile Industry Federation has played a great role in encouraging our textile engineering technicians. It not only improves the material remuneration of technicians, but more importantly, it brings honor and encourages more people to devote themselves to the textile industry.
Zhang Guoliang, a scientist who came out of the workshop, wrote his own legend with his wisdom, courage and perseverance, and also lit up the way forward for the development of China's carbon fiber industry and textile industry.
