    During the 2025 yarnexfo Spring/Summer Yarn Exhibition, Jiang Junhua, General Manager of General Technical New Materials and Chairman of China National Academy of Textile Technology, received a joint interview from multiple media, and carried out in-depth discussions around the technological innovation and industrial upgrading, latest progress and strategic blueprint of General Technical New Materials.

       1. What are the key points of general technical new materials in leading industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation?

       Jiang Junhua: As a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Technology Group, an important state-owned backbone enterprise directly managed by the central government, General Technology and New Materials is also an industrial subsidiary of the Group's efforts to develop new materials business. Since its establishment in 2020, it has always placed scientific and technological innovation at the core of the overall reform and development of enterprises, actively serving the national strategy, Practise the mission of "leading a better life with scientific and technological progress and quality service", lead industrial innovation with scientific and technological innovation, vigorously develop new quality productivity, and accelerate to become "the world's leading fiber and new material enterprise leading industry development". General technical new materials are mainly innovated by China National Textile Institute, whose history can be traced back to 1956. It has outstanding research and development strength, and has three national research and development platforms, namely, the National Key Laboratory for Biobased Fiber Materials, the National Engineering Research Center for Fiber based Composites, and the National Research Center for Synthetic Fiber Engineering Technology. In 2020, General Technology Group established the new materials business as one of the main businesses, and established the new materials of general technology as a professional management and control operation platform. In this context, China Textile Academy has further strengthened its core attribute of scientific and technological innovation, focusing on research and development, while other industrial companies are directly managed by general technology and new materials, thus building a new pattern led by science and technology and supporting industrial development.

    Under this pattern, on the one hand, the technology and products of the general technology new material industry plate are constantly updated to meet the market demand; On the other hand, through market-oriented operation, the profits generated by the industry sector support the development of the science and technology sector, forming a development situation in which science and technology effectively support the industry, industry feeds back science and technology, and science and industry interact effectively. In order to further improve the efficiency of scientific research, in 2024, China Textile Academy optimized and adjusted the scientific research system to ensure that more scientific and technological achievements can reflect their market attributes and economic attributes.

    Based on the strategic guidance of "four orientations" and the purpose of "three services", CITES carries out scientific and technological innovation, namely serving the national strategy, transformation and upgrading of the service industry, and high-quality development of the service industry. Relying on the strong scientific research strength of the national key laboratory of bio based fiber materials, actively respond to the national strategic guidance; Relying on the professional and technical capabilities of the R&D institutions directly under the Group and the solid foundation of Wuqing Pilot Test Base, the transformation and upgrading of the service industry will support the industrial development of the Group. Among them, Wuqing Pilot Test Base has been elaborately constructed for more than ten years, providing strong support for the research and development of small scale test of scientific and technological achievements, the operation of pilot scale test, and the realization of industrial transfer and commercial application. This year, the National Key Laboratory of Biobased Fiber Materials was successfully restructured to continue to serve the national strategy and undertake major national science and technology projects.


       2. In terms of industrial development, what are the new strategies and measures for general technology and new materials?

       Jiang Junhua: After years of development, the industry of new general technology materials has formed five major sectors, including new fiber materials, chemical fiber equipment manufacturing and engineering services, new textile materials, textile chemicals and biotechnology, and standard testing and technical services. At present, there are 13 national high-tech enterprises and 12 specialized and new enterprises in the industrial sector, including 4 national specialized and new "little giant" enterprises.

    The new fiber material plate is represented by Zhongfang Green Fiber and Kaitai Teflon. Among them, Lyocell fiber of China Textile Green Fiber is the achievement of China Textile Institute after 18 years of scientific and technological research and independent innovation. It has taken more than 20 years, with a cumulative investment of more than 2 billion yuan. It is a new fiber material focused on the development of general technical new materials. The research, development and manufacturing of functional composite special fibers are the core enterprises specialized in producing various functional and differentiated synthetic fibers in China.

    The chemical fiber equipment manufacturing and engineering service sector is represented by Beijing Zhongli and China Textile Fine Industry. Beijing Zhongli is among the best in the global chemical fiber filament equipment manufacturing industry, and the hot roll technology of China Textile Fine Industry has reached the world's advanced level.

    The new textile materials are represented by Donglun Technology and Zhongfang New Materials. Donglun Technology focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of spunlaced nonwovens. Since 1998, when it first introduced the spunlaced nonwovens production line, it has greatly promoted the development of China's spunlaced nonwovens industry. Last year, a production base of spunlaced nonwovens with an annual output of 15000 tons was built in Tianjin Binhai New Area; Sinotextile New Materials has developed a variety of new textile composite materials with high technical level, and the technology has reached the international advanced level. Its products are widely used in aerospace, life and health, and transportation tools.

    The textile chemical industry and biotechnology sector, represented by China Textile Chemical, focuses on providing printing and dyeing enterprises with products and technical services such as phosphorus free pre-treatment additives, fluorine free waterproof agents, nylon additives, antibacterial agents, etc. In recent years, Sinotextile Chemical also provides NMMO solvent, hydroxylamine stabilizer, anti fibrillation crosslinking agent and other products around Lyocell fiber industry. The standard testing and technical service sector is represented by China Textile Standard, which is a comprehensive technical service organization integrating standards, inspection, testing, measurement and certification. It also participates in the formulation of international standards, national standards and industrial standards. It is the rotating chairman of the Fiber and Yarn Subcommittee of the Textile Products Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC38/SC23).

    Based on the current industrial structure, we are planning the following key directions: first, structural adjustment, optimization and adjustment of the existing industrial structure in the "Tenth Five Year Plan" being prepared; The second is to focus on the key points, promote the advanced development of specialized and new enterprises, and focus on building 1~2 industry individual champions among the existing 4 specialized and new "small giant" enterprises; Third, make full use of the resources of the listing platform, and promote the company to double its size and profit during the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period through its own connotative growth and extensional M&A strategy.


       3. What fields or projects will new materials of general technology focus on this year? What new layout and planning will the company have?

       Jiang Junhua: First, we should make every effort to promote the technical breakthrough of 19 new national projects and major science and technology projects of the Group, and continue to improve our ability to serve the national strategy, industrial transformation and upgrading, and high-quality industrial development; The second is to build and operate the national key laboratory of bio based fiber materials with high standards, establish close cooperation with Tianjin University of Science and Technology and Zhejiang University of Technology, two co construction units, and strive to usher in significant progress and breakthrough in basic theoretical research and applied basic research through joint efforts; The third is to strengthen the development, application and promotion of new varieties in combination with industrial development, especially the development of Lyocell fiber industry.

    In recent years, facing the complex situation of cyclical and structural contradictions, most textile enterprises are facing enormous challenges. General technical new materials have taken effective measures in product structure optimization, cost control, project investment and other aspects by implementing lean management and benchmarking the advanced level of the industry. At the same time, through scientific and technological innovation, such as the research and development of new raw materials, procurement costs and production costs have been effectively reduced, and the competitiveness of market pricing has been strengthened. In 2024, the business performance of new materials of general technology was the best in the past three years. Moreover, since this year, the company has continued the good development momentum of last year, showing a rising trend of development. At present, general new technology materials are further refining the "15th Five Year Plan" and refining and improving the business plans of key businesses in each business segment around the two core directions of technology and industry.
