Li Jiacheng'S Most Classic Story Of Entrepreneurial Storm
From a salesperson to a general manager, "a person with a credit will have more opportunities than a person who does not have credit, laziness, spends money, and does not want to make progress."
This is Li Jiacheng's advice to young people, and his motto at the same time.
In 1940, the Japanese army invaded China. Li Jiacheng fled to Hongkong from his hometown, Chaozhou, when he was only fourteen years old.
Li Jiacheng's father was a teacher. When he arrived in Hongkong, he could not find a job at a time. He turned his whole family to his wealthy uncle.
But soon his father suffered from a serious lung disease. When he died, he did not give any last words. Instead, he asked Li Jiacheng what he wanted.
Li Jiacheng immediately promised: "in the future, the family will have a good life."
After the death of his father, Li Jiacheng, the eldest son, gave up his studies to support his family and went to work in a watch company. Later, he went to a plastic factory as a salesman.
Li Jiacheng knew well that if he wanted to be an excellent salesman, he must be diligent and flexible.
In the future career of marketing, Li Jiacheng has given full play to these "tricks".
When other colleagues work only eight hours a day, Li Jiacheng works sixteen hours a day.
Li Jiacheng's view of "working part-time" is: "I am absolutely devoted to my own work.
Never regard it as a life of making money, making a difference with the boss, but taking it as a career.
In this way, Li Jiacheng spent only one year, surpassing the other six colleagues and becoming the highest salesman in the factory.
His sales record was seven times that of the second.
At the age of eighteen, he was appreciated by his boss and promoted to department manager.
A year later, he became the general manager of a sales company.
Li Jiacheng's quick promotion also has an episode: when he is a salesperson in a factory, he will be busy at night school for further study.
After he passed the college entrance examination, he planned to go to university, and the boss promoted him to the position of the general manager simply in order to retain the talent.
After the short campaign, Li Jiacheng began to measure his strength. He believed that if he was independent, his achievements could be better.
In 1950, at the age of twenty-two, Li Jiacheng finally resigned from the position of general manager and tried to start his own business.
At that time, Li Jiacheng's funds were very limited. The savings accumulated over the past two years were only seven thousand Hong Kong dollars, which was not enough to set up factories.
He borrowed more than forty thousand yuan from his uncle Li Yiji's cousin Li Shulin, and he added his savings, with a total of 50000 Hong Kong dollars capital, and opened a factory to produce plastic toys and household goods on the Queen's Road West of Hong Kong Island. And he took Xunzi's "School of persuaded" as "the Yangtze River".
In the beginning, Li Jiacheng only knew that orders and shipments were kept, ignoring quality control and making the products more and more coarse.
The result is not delayed delivery time, that is, causing returns and compensation, and factory revenues plummeted.
In addition, raw materials traders came home to ask for payment, and banks continued to push back loans. The Yangtze River was pushed to the brink of bankruptcy.
This made Li Jiacheng understand that he was really in a hurry and underestimated the risk of being a boss.
How can we save the Yangtze River plastics factory?
Li Jiacheng still relies on two words: "faith", which is believed to be meaningful to employees.
He summoned the staff meeting to speak frankly about his mistakes in operation, and sincerely apologized to all the staff who stayed in the factory. He also assured that once the factory could pass through this extraordinary period, the workers who had been dismissed were welcome to return to work at any time.
After that, Li Jiacheng traveled across many banks, raw materials suppliers and customers, apologizing one by one, requesting them to relax the repayment period, and at the same time, tried their best to find customers for the goods, and sold the inferior goods at the cost of the original price, and raised money to buy Plastic materials and purchase production machines.
By 1955, the debt platform was finally demolished, business became better, and not long ago, a branch plant was opened.
One day in early 1957, Li Jiacheng read the new issue of the English version of "plastic" magazine. He came across a piece of news that a company in Italy used plastic materials to make plastic flowers and gave full play to European and American markets. This gave Li Jiacheng great inspiration.
He is acutely aware that such cheap and fine decorations have great market potential, while a large number of cheap and diligent workers in Hongkong are devoted to plastic flower production.
He predicted that plastic flowers will also become popular in Hongkong.
Li Jiacheng took the time to personally take people to Italy's plastic factory to learn art. While introducing plastic flower production technology, he also introduced foreign management methods.
After returning to Hong Kong, he renamed the Changjiang plastics factory as "Changjiang Industrial Co., Ltd.", and actively expanded the factory building to secure contracts for overseas buyers.
Among the customers of the Yangtze River, Ma Suceng, a Jewish American, ordered a batch of plastic products to be shipped to the United States, but somehow he cancelled the contract temporarily.
Li Jiacheng did not ask for compensation. He told Marx: "if there are other businesses in the future, we can build a better relationship."
Marsein deeply felt that the generous young entrepreneur was a great man. He constantly promoted the products of the Yangtze River to American experts.
Since then, American orders have been flying like snowflakes.
Li Jiacheng further realized that "loss is a blessing".
After five years of investment in real estate industry, the Yangtze River has gradually become one of the largest plastic flower factories in the world.
Li Jiacheng was called the "plastic flower king" by insiders.
And the owner of the workshop that Li Jiacheng hired also took the opportunity to raise the rent substantially, which contributed to Li Jiacheng's determination to build his own property.
