AVON President'S Road To Entrepreneurship
Love your work and family, and never forget the modest virtues of Chinese culture at all times. These two points make Zhong Binxian, the most prominent woman in the American business world, Avon Co president.
The secret of success was revealed by Mr. Chung in his speech at the New York World Business Forum 14.
The annual event of the world's top business leaders in New York, RadioCity, is a gathering of stars. As the only female speaker, Zhong is wearing her customary black suit with white pearl necklace and eardrop, and conquers thousands of viewers with a confident smile.
In her speech, Zhong said that no matter how the business environment and her position changed, she would always remember that she was a Chinese, and remember the modest virtues of Chinese culture. At the same time, as a woman, she would take care of her family and make sure that her career and family were two.
"A lot of people think that women can't have a career or family," I said. "At the beginning, I was in a bit of a hurry, but I found a balance gradually."
Zhong Binxian said.
Zhong Binxian has sixteen children, aged eight and eight, who can honestly take care of their children and work, but sometimes she can always tell which one is the most urgent task. For example, she has sacrificed the opportunity to have dinner with President Bush, because that day is the first day of her new term.
"The president's dinner will not be different from my absence, and my daughter will."
She said.
Mr Chung is one of the few female presidents in the fortune five hundred company and the only Chinese.
In 1999, she was appointed president of AVON, which was the lowest time of the Centennial company, and she changed the fate of the company and was regarded as a myth by Western business circles.
He was born in a Chinese immigrant family in Toronto. His father is an architect from Hongkong and his mother is a chemical engineer from Shanghai.
Zhong Binxian said that her parents were proud to be Chinese as a child.
Until he became president of AVON, Zhong dad told a famous journalist DanRather's TV interview: "I don't know if she can do well in the CEO of the United States, because we have been training her to become a typical Chinese woman."
A few years later, Zhong Junxian, a successful businessman, received a letter written by his father in Chinese. The letter said, "I believe that the factors of tolerance, generosity, diligence in Chinese culture have made you today. But you must remember that you can never be proud of yourself. This is also our precious cultural heritage."
