The Most Beautiful Woman: Yuesai'S Entrepreneurial Story
Jin Yuxi: his ancestral home in Guangdong, was born in Guilin, Guangxi.
At the age of 16, he went to Brigham Young University in Hawaii and studied for master of music and Political Science degree. He settled in New York in 1973 and founded Jin Yu Xi TV production company. He successfully hosted the celebration of Jianguo 35th anniversary in 1984 in the United States, and became famous in the United States. In 1986, he produced 104 sets of TV series around the world, which was broadcast in CCTV and became a household name in China. He founded the Jin Yu Xi cosmetics company in 1992.
In April 1999, she was awarded the honorary title of "the world's outstanding female entrepreneur". The award came from 50 women from 35 countries in the world.
These women made a total contribution of 15 billion dollars to the global economy.
Thanks to his outstanding contributions to the communication between eastern and Western cultures, Jin Yuxi received over 20 awards from various organizations including the United Nations and the United States Congress.
In addition to the "Lifetime Achievement Award" and "outstanding women Award", there are "special achievement award", "friendly ambassadors Award", "outstanding talent award" and "international media exchange Award".
This is one of the most famous women in China.
She made the Chinese people see the world for the first time on television. Her hair and accent were imitated by numerous Chinese women. She created the first cosmetics brand and doll in China. Her head was printed on the Chinese stamp. She kept telling the Chinese through media how the internationalization was going on.
In the decades of great changes in the fashion outlook and world outlook of hundreds of millions of Chinese people, Chinese American Jin Yuxi undoubtedly stood on the cusp of the tide of change.
In the same month of the same year as the Chinese people and Republic, it may have been the magic relationship between Yuesai and this country.
She was born in Guilin in Guangxi and spent her childhood in Hongkong. After that, she moved to the United States with a large number of Hongkong people.
In fact, Yuesai does not like dolls in childhood.
Every time her parents bought her dolls, the first thing she did was to pull out their hair just to find out how they were put into the doll's body.
In her childhood, her greatest hobby was playing the piano.
Since she moved to Hongkong at the age of four, she began to play the piano. This hobby lasted until she moved to the United States, and she received a master's degree in music from Brigham Young University in Hawaii.
At a university beauty contest there, Yuesai officially began to study make-up, posture and hair. That competition made her a "Narcissus" and also influenced her feminine consciousness.
After graduating from University of Hawaii, Rubenstein found that although he loves music, he can never be another "Rubenstein". "If you can't do the best, why do you want to do it?"
So she cast her eyes on another passion: the cultural bridge between the East and the West.
In 1972, Yuesai went to her sister in New York. Since then, the city has become her favorite and cultural pmission base.
In the early days of her career in New York, she lived in a small apartment in Queens and Manhattan. Her job was to import pillowcases, silk, curtains and tablecloths from China.
Once Yuesai had only 150 yuan and several friends around her. She once asked a friend in a cold month to borrow some money to buy a coat. The clothes were very expensive. It took her a year and a half to get her debts back.
At the same time, Yuesai volunteered to host a Chinese television program in a television station in Manhattan, where she understood the power of television pmission.
In 1978, Yuesai established its own TV production company. For the first time in 12 years, watching orient systematically introduced China and Asia to Western audiences.
The wave of career turning is like a rush of layers.
In 1984, the US PBS television station and China CCTV worked together to relay the National Day 35th anniversary celebration. On the same day, Yuesai was invited to be the host of the US. It was the celebration that Peking University students showed a banner of "Hello Xiaoping".
Since then, she has attracted the attention of CCTV.
From 1986 to 1987, she began producing and hosting the 104 episode of the world, becoming the first foreign Chinese moderator in the history of Chinese television.
The two weeks of "world wide" let gray China see the colorful world outside. The Yuesai with its bright lipstick and her head is also an idol of millions of viewers.
However, Yuesai was not familiar with China's national conditions, and even a few people in China knew the pressure.
"This TV program has no source of funds, no sponsors, and has many difficulties in photography, lighting, sound and talent search.
I had a TV show in the United States at that time, and I had to make that program successful so that I could have money on Chinese TV programs.
Yuesai recalls.
During the 20 years of the two production of TV shows, Yuesai did not disappear from the field of communication. Instead, she used the more direct form to change the image of China's first cosmetic brand.
In 1992, Yuesai founded Yuesai company.
At that time, Yuesai did not have any commercial management experience. At the same time, Chinese women rarely make-up, and there was no market at all.
The only thing she can give to the company is her consistent spirit: to do the best.
With the support of her former husband, she spent a lot of money on brand research, hired the best laboratory, research and development and packaging personnel, and finally studied the product as she hoped: suitable for Chinese skin.
Perhaps, if you did not personally open all six hundred counters, you did not personally stand on the counter to make recommendations for women's make-up, and did not personally write down every word on the package. Editing every news statement, Yuesai's products could not be successful.
"When I sold the first lipstick, the biggest difficulty I felt was that the supply was in short supply."
Later, the company continued to flourish. In 2004, Yuesai, who was tired of doing business, sold its brand to L'OREAL.
Yuesai's home in Beijing is clean and luxurious.
Just like home in New York and Shanghai, Yuesai likes to hold parties at home.
She likes to deal with all kinds of people.
"I can contact anyone in any class.
For many years, I have met a lot of friends. "
She said that after graduating from college, she did not know why she knew many people in the upper class. "Maybe because I like to meet people."
The expanding interpersonal relationship has brought unique capital to Yuesai's communication industry.
In the program, she interviewed a large number of celebrities, many of whom were known by themselves.
She once interviewed the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Gary, for five years as her neighbor.
In addition, she was also known by friends of friends. She learned the pianist AndreaBrody at a banquet, and finished three times after finishing his programme.
When it comes to these stars, Yuesai and their close side are revealed: "Andy is a big playboy!
He is not an idol!
"She suddenly shouted out.
Yuesai became famous in China in 1986.
Yuesai said: "after hosting the National Day celebration, CCTV invited me to Beijing. They asked me to make a 104 episode TV series" around the world ".
This is China's first TV series to introduce the world (Chinese and English), which is broadcast on CCTV.
At that time, CCTV was the only national television network in China. Unlike the United States, there were many television stations, so every word I said was very important.
It is unprecedented for CCTV to invite a foreigner to produce and host a TV program, even today.
But at that time, CCTV did not fund the film, because in 1984 CCTV did not have an advertisement. Unlike today, you can see advertisements when you turn on the TV.
I told them that you need to raise $1 million 500 thousand for the 104 episode of the TV series, and CCTV has no such precedent.
You have to give me 3 minutes of ads per episode. I'll look for sponsors myself.
My first sponsor is Nestle coffee, and the second is Procter & Gamble.
Here is another little story.
When I got the sponsorship from Procter & Gamble, I was very happy that I sent a telex to the responsible department immediately and asked them to approve the sponsor. Soon they returned a legend that the sponsor could not approve it because the Chinese government did not allow "Gambling".
