International Wool Textile Organization Conference

The seventy-seventh annual conference of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) will be held in Beijing on April 13th ~16.

The theme of this conference is "wool environment-friendly fiber". The conference will mainly discuss the current situation and development direction of the global wool textile industry.

According to Peng Yanli, chairman of China Wool Textile Industry Association, the annual IWTO annual meeting is attended by about 200 people from all aspects of the global wool industry chain.

This year's conference will be composed of a number of keynote speeches and forums, covering the production, trade and processing of wool, as well as the development direction of clothing, indoor textiles and technical textiles.

IWTO is a non-governmental international organization representing world trade in wool production, wool spinning, retailing, and related fields.

At present, the organization has 22 member states and 17 quasi member states.

According to statistics, 78% of the world's wool is from IWTO member countries, 87% of the raw wool trade is carried out among IWTO member countries, 90% of the wool is from IWTO member countries, and 92% of the wool fabrics are produced by IWTO member countries.

In March 1998, the Chinese wool textile industry association represented the Chinese wool textile industry to join the IWTO.

In the past 10 years, China's wool textile industry has made great progress.

At present, China's wool processing accounts for about 35% of the total wool processing in the world, and China is also the world's largest wool processing center and wool consumer country.
