India Textile Exporters Association Welcomes Extended Tax Refund Service
The India Textile Exporters Association (TEA) welcomes the three service measures for refund of service tax to exporters.
The Ministry of finance of the Ministry of finance of India issued a notice to N0.17/2008, which extended tax exemption for the following three services, and exporters could be exempt from tax refund through the application of service tax rebates.
1) export of goods exported through customs services provided by customs;
2) services related to the Levy of export costs; services related to export letters of credit, such as delegate advice, correction proposals and cost approval.
3) the services provided by the entrusting agencies outside India, and services under contracts or agreements or other documents;
The president of the India Textile Exporters Association thanked federal finance minister Chidambaram, Commerce Minister Kamal Nash, and business secretary Pillai.
He hoped that these measures could help India's exporters improve their competitiveness.
He invited the government to exempt the remaining service tax payments and additional benefits from taxes.
