Vietnamese National Costume
Vietnamese national costume "ao dai" long gown
Vietnamese women used to wear national costume "long gown" on formal occasions. The long gown is a unique traditional dress of Vietnamese women. It is usually cut out of light and soft cloth of silk material. It is similar to Chinese cheongsam. But the trousers with high slacks from waist to waist and loose trousers with fancy or white cloth are convenient for squatting, sitting and cycling.
In addition to exquisite handwork, Vietnamese long gowns do not pay much attention to the wearing figures. Therefore, everyone wears very well, and their personal and clothing are particularly prominent. Wearing a bamboo hat, wearing a split gown and a pair of trousers is probably the Vietnamese impression of most people from Vietnam movies or pictures. But if you travel to Vietnam by Vietnam Airlines, the traditional costumes of the air hostesses on the plane will surely make you unable to see more.
This has become the traditional clothing "ao dai" of Vietnam's national costume. The waist part of the long gown is tailored to the waist. It is spacious below the waist, with the left and right branches open to the waist, and the wide flared bell bottoms. A perfectly fitting jacket, coupled with elegant skirts and trousers, will undoubtedly make the delicate and exquisite figure more beautiful, especially when it opens its fork and conceales its bland underbelly. Vietnamese women wear more or less changes in their clothing, color, or style. For example, the former skirt is longer, and the length is about ten to twenty centimeters from the ground. Young girls prefer the length of the knee to facilitate the locomotives. In addition, the color of the former clothing was rich in local color, the North Vietnamese women liked the tea color, the central women preferred purple, the Nanyue women had white or embroidered flowers, but there was almost no difference at present. In order to emphasize the elegance of traditional traditional clothes, western style high heels have become indispensable accessories.
Decades ago, when Vietnamese women went out or met their guests, they had a lot of "Ao Dai". But after the success of the 1945 revolution, the government had made reforms in clothing, and the number of people wearing such clothing gradually reduced, and in fact, the convenience and the influence of western culture, the national costume almost could only be seen at weddings, celebrations or beauty pageant.
