Vietnam'S Clothing Exports To The US Are Second Only To China.

Vietnam is a small country in Asia, but Vietnam's clothing exports to the US have surpassed India, ranking second only to China.

In May this year, Vietnam exported $4 billion 760 million to the US, compared with India's exports of US $3 billion 140 million.

According to the data released by the US Department of Commerce, by the end of May, the United States imported $73 billion and Vietnam accounted for 6.55%, while China remained the largest export country in the US market with a market share of 30.6%.

D K Nair, director general of the India Textile Industry Federation, said that the competition in Vietnam was very intense. In May, Vietnam's clothing exports to the US market increased unprecedentedly, reaching 36.39%, while India's exports showed a negative growth of 0.72%.

Vietnam's growth is Vietnam's cost competitive advantage over India. Last year, India exporters were hit hard by the rupee appreciation.

However, the rupee has begun to depreciate, and the situation is likely to improve this year.

Insiders say that many Chinese enterprises have moved their production bases to Vietnam to benefit from lower production costs in Vietnam, which is also the reason for Vietnam's clothing export growth.

Bangladesh clothing exports to the US $3 billion 180 million, and the US market share is 4.37%.

The United States Department of Commerce gathered data show that Mexico and Indonesia ranked before India, India clothing exports to the United States ranked sixth.
