A Warm Look In The Cold Winter
Premier Wen Jiabao spoke highly of the textile and garment industry: China's textile and garment industry is a pillar industry.
Wen Jiabao, premier of the State Council, met with representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Chinese funded institutions, and revealed that the central government had felt the financial crisis in June this year and took measures to deal with it.
He made special mention of the development of China's textile and garment industry. He said, "I read an internal reference of Xinhua News Agency yesterday. That insider wrote about how to deal with the financial crisis in the textile and garment industry of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang province. I was very encouraged by it. I wrote a paragraph. I said that under the cold attack of the world financial crisis, this news has brought us a warm smell. China's textile and garment industry is a pillar industry. With support from the state, our enterprises will also overcome difficulties, overcome difficulties and achieve greater development and improvement, which of course requires innovation to enhance competitiveness.
Among the 10 measures to stimulate domestic demand, one of the policies is related to the textile and garment industry:
扶持服裝紡織企業
Support export oriented garment and textile enterprises to carry out technological innovation to cope with the reduction of external demand. China's textile and garment industry is a pillar industry, and the state should support it. Our enterprises will be able to overcome difficulties, overcome difficulties and get greater development and improvement. Of course, we need innovation to improve our competitiveness.
According to the data from the textile industry association, there are 13 textile and garment enterprises in China (including Hong Kong and Macao), with only 8 garment enterprises, including more than 60 thousand small and medium-sized enterprises. From the origin of textile products to production enterprises, and then to the circulation and sales area, the total number of workers involved in the upstream and downstream industry chain is about 170 million.
In the face of such a pillar industry, the state will certainly attach importance to it. Premier Wen's speech will undoubtedly give a hint of warmth to the textile and clothing industry in the cold winter.
Relevant experts and government departments are actively exploring the way out for China's textile industry in the future.
Mei Xinyu, a researcher at the Ministry of Commerce, believes that China's textile industry needs to expand domestic demand. In addition to the product's right way, it also needs to increase national income and reduce housing prices, which makes the purchasing power of residents consumed by housing expenditure more likely to be transferred to consumer goods.
Wen Zhongliang, deputy director of the Ministry of foreign trade of the Ministry of Commerce, believes that Chinese enterprises should seek new targets in the world. The global financial crisis has a more significant impact on the developed economies such as Europe and the United States, and the impact on emerging economies is relatively small. Under the current weak market demand of major European and American economies, it is hoped that Chinese enterprises will turn their eyes to emerging economies, such as Africa, South America and South Asia.
In Europe and the United States, efforts should be made to increase exports of high value-added products. Under the influence of external environment and other factors, the profit margins of enterprises with low added value such as processing trade are significantly reduced, while the enterprises with high value-added products and high technology content are relatively limited.
For those of us in the industry, it is important to have confidence. Despite the corresponding policy support, we can not do without ourselves. In the face of winter, we need to work harder.
