The Ministry Of Industry And Development Of The NDRC Has Formulated Plans For Revitalization Of 9 Key Industries, Including Textiles.

The press office of the State Council held a press conference on Friday, December 12, 2008 (10:00). Li Yizhong, Minister of industry and information technology, introduced the situation of promoting the steady and healthy development of the industry, and answered questions from reporters.

Last month 26, the thirty-seventh Executive Council of the State Council specially studied six measures to help enterprises overcome difficulties and promote the development of industrial economy.

To solve the current problem of economic growth, industry is the key and enterprises are difficult.

We should thoroughly implement the major strategic decisions of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Before the economic work conference, we discussed with the relevant departments and some associations and enterprises, and made a report on the nine industries of light industry, textile, iron and steel, nonferrous metals, automobile, petrochemical, shipbuilding, electronics and communications, together with a dairy industry leading to the State Council.

We heard reports from 9 industries and small dairy industries equal to 10 industries, timely issued relevant policies and measures, and special policies to support small and medium-sized enterprises.

The central economic work conference has made an analysis and judgement on the current situation, and has put forward the general requirements for the economic work next year. One important content is to further clarify a series of policies and measures to promote industrial development, lay down the revitalization plan for key industries, and support technological pformation and technological innovation of enterprises.

Next, we will pay close attention to the changes in the situation and grasp the implementation of the various policies and measures that have been identified. In line with the NDRC's urgent efforts to formulate the revitalization plan for the nine key industries mentioned above, we will formulate guidelines and implementation measures to promote the technological pformation of enterprises, and strive to solve some outstanding problems that restrict the development of the industry and communications industry, and strive to reverse the decline in industrial growth and promote the steady and rapid economic development.
