Vietnam's Position In The US Textile Industry?

Will Vietnam become the new main garment textile supply base in 2009?

Can it shake China's position in the textile and garment industry of the United States?

Over the past 30 years, China has been the largest supplier of clothing, textiles and footwear in the United States, and has been playing a very good role as a supplier.

However, with the gradual increase of China's labor force and the increase of monetary liquidity, many commodity prices are rising.

Therefore, many countries, including the United States, are actively looking for a way out.

In terms of raw material selection, textile and garment enterprises need to consider many problems in order to reduce costs.

These include: Policy tariff reduction, lagging logistics services, energy shortage, shortage of raw materials and chemical standard testing.

After considering these problems, many American businesses have put their eyes on the world's new textile and clothing market - Vietnam.

Since Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization in 2007, Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises have sprung up in the mainland.

At present, Vietnam has replaced Mexico as the second largest supplier of textile and garment industry in the United States.

According to a survey by the end of 2008, Vietnam exported about $5 billion 300 million worth of clothing and textile products to the United States this year, an increase of 26% over the same period in 2007.

However, there is no consensus on whether Vietnam should be used as a new supply base.

In order to ensure the stability of its supply sources, the United States must set up production management institutions in the enterprises of the producing countries in order to control the supply of raw materials.

The United States must also provide professional managers and staff training for its suppliers in Vietnam.

At the same time, they have to monitor the operation of enterprises at all times, because enterprises have such problems at any time.

If the US investment in Vietnam's textile and garment enterprises is rewarded, and the quality of products is guaranteed, then the investment of the United States is valuable.
