AMD Tells Intel That There Is No End.

From 2005 to early 2006, the European Union and South Korea launched an investigation into Intel. They searched some local organizations in Intel and investigated some computer manufacturers and sellers, all because of Intel's alleged monopoly.

Japan also ruled that Intel was monopolized last year, making Intel abandon the offer of discount to producers and sellers.

In mid July, AMD filed a lawsuit against Intel in Germany, saying that the latter put pressure on Media Markt, a big e retailer, to exert influence on the sales of processor products from AMD.

The European Commission has taken over the German antitrust investigation.

European Commission spokesman Jonathan Todd said the European Union found that AMD's lawsuit against Intel in Germany was similar to that of the European Union, and therefore the European Union agreed with the German antitrust agency Bundeskartellamt after consultations. It took over the lawsuit from Germany in late August.

In response to Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy, Intel will continue to cooperate fully with the European Union's investigation and believe that its actions are "fair and legal".

Of course, Intel has never been a vegetarian. There are always unexpected things happening in the hands of experts. The latest news is that the Intel on the dock turned to ATi. The Delaware court recognized Intel's application for subpoena to ATi and asked for all the documents related to AMD's acquisition of ATi.

According to the application request, "all documents related to ATi's consent to be acquired by AMD" are listed in Intel, "including, but not limited to, the strategic relationship, development opportunities, financial details, the actual and potential impact on both companies and future new companies" and so on.

A few months ago, AMD also sent a similar submission to Microsoft for all documents related to "developing the corresponding software time and schedule of AMD 64 bit processors".

Since then, Adobe, BEA Systems, Sun and DELL, HP and WAL-MART have received similar summons.

Intel responded immediately and sent a summons to the company, but the purpose was different from AMD.

It seems that the battle of the two big CPU manufacturers will continue.
