Japanese Textile Giant Intends To Invest In Uzbekistan
One of the world's leading producers of textiles and man-made fibres, Japan's TorayIndustries company intends to produce textiles in Uzbekistan.
Members of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan, who were interviewed by the media, announced that Agee Loi, TorayIndustries, a member of the delegation of the company of Japan, and a member of the board of directors of the company, had a conversation with the Ministry of foreign affairs, foreign economic affairs, investment and trade of Uzbekistan, and the company of Uzbekistan state. And visited several local textile enterprises in Uzbekistan.
"We want to negotiate the production of textiles with Uzbekistan. First of all, we plan to study regional markets and identify specific planning tasks. After that, we will make orders for Uzbekistan users. After that, a plan to establish a joint venture or a direct investment enterprise is put forward.
During the visit, the representative of Japan's TorayIndustries company described the history of the company since its establishment in 1926, when it produced silk and rayon fibers. There are about 200 sub enterprises and branches in 38 thousand countries in the world, including Britain, Germany, China, Italy, Singapore and other countries, with 38 thousand employees. The company's main partners in the Japanese market are Canon and Panasonic. At present, these partners intend to jointly produce high-tech textiles such as synthetic fibers and new forms of chemical textiles. The company is the first Japanese textile company to set up a branch in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbekistan state stock company confirmed that at present, the Uzbekistan government has worked out the outline of the national textile industrial product development for 2007-2012 years. The outline will carry out 79 projects with a total value of US $614 million 600 thousand by 2012. It is expected to provide 36 thousand and 200 jobs.
