Iraqi Shoe Thrower For The First Time In Court
Iraq throws shoes at Bush.
Iraqi journalist Zaidi, who became famous for throwing shoes at former US President Bush, first went to court in February 19th, according to China Daily. At the trial site, Edie's supporters chanted hymns and called them heroes.
In his interrogation, Edie said that he had had the idea of throwing shoes at Bush. At last year's press conference, he saw Bush's unsmiling "cold smiling face". He could not restrain his anger and threw his shoes to Bush. Iran officials say Edie is likely to face up to 15 years in prison.
More than an hour after the trial, the judge announced that the trial would be postponed until March 12th because of the controversy over whether Bush's last visit to Iraq was official or unofficial.
