China'S Exports Of Knitwear To The United States Increased Sharply In January

According to the preliminary statistics of the textiles and clothing department of the US Department of Commerce, in January 2009, the United States imported 28 million 430 thousand square meters of 222 kinds of fabrics from China, an increase of 118.7% over the same period in 2008.

Although China's textile and clothing exports to the US were no longer subject to quota restrictions from the beginning of this year, the export of knitwear to the United States had a good start in 2009, but export enterprises were generally not optimistic about the export market in 2009, mainly due to the loss of consumer confidence and the purchasing power of the market affected by the crisis.

The European Union, the United States and Japan are the three largest export markets for knitted goods in China. The demand for knitwear in these markets will directly affect the growth of China's export of knitwear in 2009.

It is predicted that in 2009, the export volume of knitwear in China decreased by 5%. Experts believe that the recession in the Japanese market needs to be closely watched, because most exporters turn their strategy into the US market.
