Chen Lichang: Stabilizing Cotton Planting Area Is Imminent.

Recently, Chen Lichang, President of the National People's Congress and President of the Suqian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, put forward proposals for stabilizing the cotton planting area.
Chen Lichang said: "according to the situation of cotton this year, spring ploughing is coming soon. If we do not introduce policies again, we will not intensify our efforts in this field. One delay will be one year, and then we will be passive."
Chen Lichang representative analysis said that last year, the textile industry was hit by the international financial crisis, and the price of the main raw material cotton was also plummeting.
The purchase price of seed cotton dropped from three yuan per catty to two yuan in 2007, and many cotton farmers lost their money.

In response to this situation, Chen Lichang put forward the proposal to stabilize the cotton planting area to the National People's Congress, and hoped that the relevant policies should be introduced as soon as possible, so as to have a reassurance for the wait-and-see farmers.
He suggested two measures: first, in view of the situation in front of it, we should be able to subsidize the good species and grow subsidies, like grain crops, and now have a good kind of subsidy, and make up more than ten dollars per mu, but there are no subsidies, and there are a few tens of dollars less than the grain.
The second is the minimum protection price.
