In 2008, the Changshu inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected 2020 batches of export textile and garment accessories, sweaters and feather filling materials, and 3469 samples. 128 batches of unqualified products were detected, and the rejection rate was 8.6%.

In its daily supervision, the Bureau found that there were many garment enterprises in the region, and most of them produced domestic products, because some domestic enterprises had changed their products in recent years.

However, due to the lack of knowledge about foreign trade and lack of understanding of foreign technical regulations, there is no effective system control for the quality of export products, especially for the whole process of raw material procurement, production process control and product inspection. Most export textile, garment, sweater and down products enterprises do not even have the proper testing equipment, and there is no corresponding control measures for raw material suppliers, thus lacking the inspection of raw material feeding. Due to the impact of the international financial crisis, the export textile and garment market is fiercely competitive, and some enterprises purchase cheap and quality raw materials in order to reduce costs.

For this reason, the inspection and quarantine department reminds manufacturers and foreign trade companies that export textile and clothing, in the face of increasingly fierce competition in the international market, we must enhance the sense of honesty and law-abiding and self-protection, and ensure the safety of product design, the inspection of raw materials into the plant, the control of key processes in the production process, and the finished products in conformity with the inspection requirements of the importing countries.
