Chinese Shoe Companies Are Once Again In Europe To Take Part In Anti-Dumping Review Hearings.
"This anti-dumping hearing is the key procedure for the review of the EU's anti-dumping duties on sunsets. We have done a lot of preparatory work to provide lawyers with detailed data on the sales and export of China's footwear market, and we hope to strive for a result that is beneficial to China." after attending the hearing, Wei Ya Fei, director of shoe making office of China Leather Association, told reporters.
Recently, the China Leather Association, in collaboration with the Fair Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the Guangdong footwear Federation and a number of shoe enterprises, organized the Chinese delegation to Brussels, Belgium, to participate in the second hearing of the European Commission's anti-dumping review of China's leather shoes exports, which further demonstrated the attitude of the Chinese government and footwear industry to the case and conveyed the voice of the Chinese shoe industry to the European Commission. This is the first hearing after the Chinese Light Industry Association took part in China's shoe industry in December 18, 2008, and once again went to Europe to take part in the anti-dumping review hearing.
"This hearing is less than 40 days away from the seven sampling companies such as AOKANG and the European Commission to field verification in China. This is the key procedure for the review of the anti-dumping sunset review. It is an opportunity for the European side to provide further representations for Chinese shoe enterprises, mainly involving the legal and technical aspects."
The Chinese lawyer, Pu Ling Chen, acting on behalf of China's four industry organizations, told reporters that the statement of the Chinese delegation was carried out in five parts at the hearing. The Guangdong footwear Union, on behalf of the Chinese footwear enterprises, expressed the view that it was against the imposition of anti-dumping duties and hoped that the EU would make a fair decision. The Chinese lawyers carried out a legal analysis and an analysis of the Chinese footwear market, and the British economic department hired by the Chinese side analyzed the doubtful points of the prosecution's investigation and the European footwear market analysis at the economic level.
We concluded through investigation and argumentation that the profits of European manufacturing enterprises will not increase because of the existence of anti-dumping duty, and the damage will not disappear because of the establishment of anti-dumping duty. China does not pose a threat to the footwear industry in Europe. Anti dumping duties are not good for European manufacturers but harmful to importers and exporters and consumers. This is the opinion expressed by the Chinese representative to the European Commission officials at the hearing.
"We have conducted friendly exchanges with the officials of the European Commission who are responsible for the anti-dumping investigation, and expressed the hope that China's shoe-making enterprises hope to achieve bilateral cooperation through exchanges. The 13 EU officials attending the hearing were very interested in our statement and raised some concerns. We provide a large number of market research data, introduce the development of China's leather shoes industry in detail, and let the European Commission as far as possible have a full understanding and objective evaluation of China's footwear industry and the Chinese market. Wei Ya Fei said.
Wang Zhentao, President of AOKANG group, who was unable to attend the hearing in Brussels due to work reasons, was always concerned about the hearing. When he heard that the European Union importers, retailers and most of the member states objected to the continuing investigation of the case, he said it fully reflected the strong desire of the European Union to restore the normal trade of footwear products. He hoped that the European side could proceed from the facts and laws to try the case objectively and impartially.
After the hearing, the China Leather Association and the European Commission further communicated, and the two sides established effective channels for information exchange. The European Commission said that the China Leather Association as China's sole national footwear unit, hopes that it can further strengthen ties with European footwear associations and make efforts for the cooperation and development of the footwear industry.
