    Accelerate The Development And Development Of Special Fibers Worldwide

    The 2005 International Conference on fiber and polymer materials, sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of fiber material modification, Donghua University, was successfully held in Shanghai on -21 October 19th.

    In recent years, Donghua University has actively explored the way of combining production, learning and research, and has made fruitful achievements in the development and industrialization of new fibers and new materials, and has made great contributions to the progress of science and technology in the country.

    Following the first International Conference on new fiber materials held by Donghua University in 2002, the second International Conference on fiber and polymer materials was held again this year. Through international academic exchanges, information communication and technical cooperation in the field of new fibers and new materials have been further strengthened. It will speed up the development of new fibers and new materials and their industrialization development process, form new productive forces, and play a greater role in the economic development and social progress of human society.

    It is reported that chemical fiber as a new type of high-tech materials, through the development of differential fiber, high-performance fiber and special fiber, has changed the concept of traditional chemical fiber, so that the application of chemical fiber is more and more widely.

    It has not only set foot in the ordinary civilian field, but also made special contributions to the technological progress in the frontier areas such as national defense, military industry and aerospace technology.

    At present, the world is intensifying the development and development of special fibers and materials, and striving to achieve industrialization, thus controlling the initiative in the high-tech field that marks the strength of the country.

    Under such circumstances, our country is also speeding up the independent research and development of special fibers. The research and development of special fibers will be included in the national "11th Five-Year" development plan, focusing on the development of viscose based carbon fibers and their products, polyacrylonitrile carbon fibers, aromatic high-performance fibers and high strength and high modulus polyethylene fibers, and strive to achieve the scale production of polysulfonamide fiber at 1000 tons at an early date.

    During the current session, the chemical fiber Summit Forum and a number of academic forums were held. From macro to micro, from theory to practice, systematic and authoritative analysis and demonstration were carried out, which fully demonstrated the most advanced and cutting-edge technological progress and achievements in the field of chemical fiber and new materials.

    The 50th anniversary celebration of Donghua University is also held at the same time.
