Donghua University: Raffles International Design College, founded in 1994 by the key universities of China's Ministry of education and the key project of the "211 Project" - Donghua University and the famous Singapore Raffles School of design in the Asia Pacific region, is located in the West Yan'an Road campus of Donghua University, located in downtown Shanghai.

As a well-known institution of Sino foreign cooperation in running schools, excellent innovative design education in the Academy enjoys a high reputation in the Asia Pacific region.

At present, the academy has been awarded the designer development base of the Organizing Committee of the "China Cup" international fashion design competition, and is a member of the International Interior Designers Association (IIDA) and the Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association. It has been awarded the gold medal project of Shanghai Education Expo for two consecutive years.

Thanks to its successful running in 16 years, the academy has won the award of "the most comprehensive strength of Sino foreign cooperation institutions in 2009" in Sina's 2009 China Education annual event.

Please tell me about the cooperation between Donghua University and Singapore Raffles School of design.

Donghua University was founded in 1951, its predecessor was East China Textile Institute of technology. In 1985, it was renamed as China Textile University, and was renamed Donghua University in 1999.

In 1960, it was designated as the national key university by the Ministry of education. It is one of the first universities in China to have the right to grant three degrees of doctorate, master's degree and bachelor's degree.

The employment situation of graduates is good, and the employment rate of graduate students has been 100% for many years. The employment rate of undergraduates has remained above 95% in recent years.

In 2009, the school student employment work was awarded the honorary title of "advanced collective of graduates employment in Colleges and universities nationwide".

Founded in 1990, the Raffles School of design is one of the largest schools in the Asia Pacific region, one of the schools under the Raffles education group in Singapore.

Raffles Education Group has invested and managed 33 higher education institutes in 31 cities in 11 countries, including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and China.

Why did the Raffles education group in Singapore come to cooperate with Donghua University?

That year, cooperation with Donghua University was the first to respond to the call of China's Ministry of education on "introducing high-quality international higher education resources into China".

After that, it established cooperative schools and projects with many other universities in China, such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Tianjin.

In the past 16 years, our students have won many awards in various domestic and foreign design and marketing competitions, and have trained a large number of young designers and management talents for the fashion industry and business circles.

At present, we have more than 7000 graduates and about 3000 students.

What is the nature of these students?

It is mainly that 70% of the graduating and senior high school or three school graduates, and 30% of them are college or above.

Where do students come from?

40% of them are Shanghai, 50% are from other provinces and cities, and 10% are international students.

How about the faculty and class mode?

Our teachers are over 150 experienced teachers from nearly more than 30 different countries and regions in the United States, Britain, France, Italy and Denmark. Among them, foreign teachers are awarded foreign experts' certificates issued by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. They not only have extensive teaching experience in foreign universities, but also are senior professionals in related industries.

To help students adapt to the English teaching environment, Chinese plation assistants are taught in each class in the first and second semesters.

Because students are studying foreign courses at Raffles College in Donghua. At present, there are two major categories of design and business, including fashion design, graphic design, multimedia design, interior design, business management and fashion marketing. Each professional study course and future industry are different. Students can choose their own majors according to personal conditions, interests and so on.

Will there be any design competitions and activities in the college?

The Institute encourages students to take part in all kinds of design competitions and activities, hoping to train students' skills and exert their talents and potentials as much as possible.

For example: this World Expo Shanghai Pavilion specifically selected the teachers and students of our college to design the uniform for the staff, etiquette staff and volunteers of Shanghai Expo Hall.

Raffles, Donghua, has become the only official design cooperation unit designated by the government to become the youngest uniform design team in World Expo in 2010.

Our school's 6 instructors and 24 students took 9 months to complete the costume design. The design concept is mainly beautiful and comfortable. It embodies the elegance and elegance of Shanghai, and emphasizes the functionality.

Some time ago, one of the largest hotel groups in the world: InterContinental Hotel group's first high-end The Inn Boutique The Inn Boutique business opened in China. The hotel group co sponsored a "uniform design scholarship competition" with our institute. The graduation show has always been one of the most famous classic activities of Raffles in Donghua.

This graduation show was held in Zhengda square in Shanghai in April 15, 2010, coinciding with the 16th anniversary anniversary of the founding of the college.

The name of "Vision" is also a symbol of future expectations and prospects.

It includes both the higher expectations of Donghua Raffles after its 16th anniversary run, and the future vision of Raffles graduates.
