Hengqin new district planning approved to build "open island" connecting Hong Kong and Macao
Recently, "Hengqin New District regulatory detailed planning" has been approved by the Zhuhai municipal government. In May 18th, it issued a notice in Zhuhai city housing and urban rural planning and construction information network.

In addition, the planning will also build 2 channels connecting Macao to the central business district and teaching area based on the existing Hengqin port channel, and give priority to the construction of the access between Macao University and Macao.
In terms of commercial service facilities, the planning shows that the largest area of the hotel area in the new area is 169.10 hectares, mainly located in the coastal area of the Fu Xiang Bay, some parts of the south side of the island road, the northern part of the three fold springs and the partial section of the riverside of the central business district.
The second is commercial office land, with a total planned area of 156.04 hectares, 151.91 hectares of recreational land, 63.63 hectares of commercial land, and 55.86 hectares of land for service industries.
In addition, in the area of energy planning, the new area will be the first station of Hengqin gas station as the CNOOC natural gas receiving station, covering an area of 1.65 hectares. The terminal station of Macao will provide a natural gas source for Macao, covering an area of 1 hectares.
It is also planned to set up Hengqin campus of Macao University in the south of the port service area.
