This year, with the rapid rise of international oil prices, the prices of major raw materials such as cotton yarn and chemical fiber have risen sharply, and some raw materials have risen by more than 100%. With the increase of labor costs and transportation costs, the export cost of textile enterprises has increased significantly.
However, under the influence of the financial crisis, the consumption market of major economies such as Europe, the United States and Japan has not yet returned to pre crisis levels, and domestic textile products are not necessities of life and rigid demand. Therefore, the export price rises far from the level of cost rise, resulting in shrinking corporate profits and low export enthusiasm.
Jiang Hui said that unlike textiles, clothing products and food products belong to rigid consumer goods, so their export market is much better.
"Another reason is that the technical content of textiles is low, the market entry threshold is low, and the vicious competition between industries is fierce."
