Expo Week In West Lake

It was not possible to throw Hangzhou away, but half of it was the lake. On the afternoon of May 31st, the Xihu District World Expo held a launching ceremony in Expo site in Hangzhou. At the ceremony, the spectacular "misty rain West Lake" performance attracted tourists to stop. Hu Jinjun, deputy director of Shanghai World Expo Bureau, deputy director of Hangzhou Municipal People's Congress and Zheng Rongsheng, Secretary of West Lake District Committee, attended the departure ceremony.

The theme of this flower parade is "West Lake, sharing and building the most beautiful city in the country". On the road of 1.8 kilometers from the African Union pavilion to the Expo Axis, the performance team of 11 flower cars and more than 200 people is huge. The front of the parade was a spectacular show of "misty rain West Lake" presented by 8 young girls.

It is reported that the activity week will start in May 31st and last for a week. During the two periods of time, 11 touring floats will be displayed in each of the three time periods from the three aspects of environment, industry, tourism and humanities to show the achievements of Xihu District in recent years, as well as its advantages in economic and social development, history and culture, tourism resources and ecological environment.

Xihu District is the largest city in Hangzhou and the seat of Zhejiang provincial Party committee and provincial government. Qian Tang River, Beijing Hangzhou the Grande Canale, West Lake and Xixi in the region are guided by four rivers. West Lake's scenery is picturesque, beautiful and eye catching. Xihu District takes the Expo as an opportunity to launch a series of "World Tour" boutique routes. Combined with the theme of Xihu District XiXi Wetland Expo, Xihu District launched a collection of eco friendly, leisure and cultural boutique routes, so that visitors from all over the world can get a unique tourism experience.

In addition, in order to manage festival activities, Xihu District has also meticulously prepared various activities during the Expo, such as Xixi Dragon Boat Festival, Songcheng Water Splashing Festival and Xixi persimmon Festival.
