Raw Silk Keeps Rising: Silk Yarn "Golden Silk"
Recently, as gold continues to rise, there are raw silk.
It is reported that the price of domestic cocoon raw silk has risen sharply since the international financial crisis in 2008, and is currently up to 300 thousand yuan / ton, the highest price in nearly 15 years.
More attention should be paid to the shortage of cocoons.
At present, the price of cocoon and silk is upside down by 20 thousand yuan, and the phenomenon of "flour is more expensive than bread" has been discovered in the whole silk industry chain.
What follows is that most silk reeling enterprises are facing the dilemma of not having rice under the pot.
It is worth noting that this is not just a domestic phenomenon, but also a similar trend in raw silk prices in international trade.
What causes the sudden rise of raw silk prices?
There are various reasons for this.
It is reported that cocoons and raw silk prices have risen steadily, which has reached the highest level in 15 years, due to the tight supply and demand, strong demand for economic return and weather conditions.
The crazier thing than silk is the raw material of silk.
"China Shengze silk chemical fiber index" of the Ministry of Commerce shows that the cocoon price in 2008 is 10 yuan / kg, but now it has more than 30 yuan / kg.
Cocoon and silk products prices reached their peak values in the past few years at the end of April.
According to data from China's cocoon and silk trading market, the price of cocoons (raw materials for fabrics used for valuables) has doubled since the beginning of 2009 and has risen to 92 thousand and 700 yuan per ton in mid April.
The price of raw silk rises by 1000 yuan per ton.
Silk merchants found that this year's life was hard.
Recently, Zhang Chunjing, director of Fuxing silk factory, who has a 380 year history of silk business, told the media that "never seen such a price increase this year, even if a price changes every day, the key is to have money in hand and not to buy goods."
According to the briefing, the supply of raw materials has been tight for nearly a year.
Nowadays, to buy raw materials from a silk reeling plant (from silk cocoons), it needs to queue up like a bank.
The silk merchants in Xiushui, Beijing, are also troubled. "This year, they have been running several times in Suzhou and Hangzhou. Next month, new silk will go down again.
It is because the price is too high that every time we go to some shortage of goods, we always hope that the price will come down next time, but I do not expect it to get higher and higher.
Last year, the price of silk pajamas priced at 300 yuan was set to 360 yuan in early summer this year.
It is reported that the price rise of silk clothing has become a general trend this year. Behind the rise of silk clothing is the rising price of raw silk raw silk.
From last year to this year, the industry faced the price of raw silk "high and low".
It is reported that the price of raw silk has not stopped since 2008. Last June, the price of silk rose to 190 thousand yuan / ton in the previous year, reaching 240 thousand yuan / ton in November. This year, it rose to 280 thousand yuan / ton, approaching the highest level in more than 10 years.
At present, a kind of white silk has risen from 170 thousand yuan / ton last year to 300 thousand yuan / ton.
Silk merchants have no choice but to tell the media, "especially in the past six months, the price of raw silk is rising from 1000 to 2000 yuan per ton per day. The delay in payment is useless before, and now we have to cash in line to buy silk."
Manufacturing enterprises suffer hardships
In the face of rising raw materials, different links in the same industry chain can be described as several joys and worries.
Silkworm farmers generally benefit from this round of price increases, while silk factories and retailers can only rely on the corresponding rise in prices to maintain the situation, but the silk reeling plant as an intermediate link has the highest risk in the whole production chain.
In the face of soaring cocoon prices, many cocoon and silk processing enterprises are overwhelmed.
At present, the price of cocoons and silk is seriously upside down, and the pattern of silk industry in China is changing.
It is reported that, due to the shortage of silkworm cocoons for the production of silk raw materials, the abnormal phenomenon of "flour is more expensive than bread" has been discovered in the entire silk industry chain. The price of cocoons and raw silk is upside down 20 thousand yuan, that is, the price of dried cocoons needed to produce 1 tons of real silk is the highest price being fried to 300 thousand yuan, while the same hurricane's raw silk price has risen to 280 thousand yuan / ton, which makes most silk reeling enterprises face the situation of sharp increase in production costs and even no rice pot.
It is reported that, because there is not enough cocoons, Huzhou's Tai Dong Wu silk Co., Ltd., a silk enterprise with more than 100 years of silk reeling history, has to adjust its working hours from one week to 6 days to 5 days a week.
Silkworm cocoon prices are rising all the time. Silk reeling enterprises can raise silk prices and eliminate cost pressures. But since last year, silk clothing enterprises have not increased their demand for silk.
Kong Xiangguang, chief designer of Zhejiang's Limited by Share Ltd, told the media that because of the instability of silk prices, most international buyers have reduced their purchases of silk fabrics. "Most of the mid-range brands prefer silk, cotton and linen fabrics to high-end clothing brands, which are not sensitive to raw material prices.
Since last year, the application of pure silk fabrics on clothing has dropped. "
Industry chain upstream and downstream at the same time, the middle of the industrial chain reeling factory profits were squeezed the most serious.
Data can also prove this point. Data from the China Silk Association show that from 1 to February this year, the loss of the silk industry was as high as 38.6%, which was higher than the average loss level of the national textile industry 35.4%.
Reasons for price increase are intriguing
What prompted the rise of raw silk prices?
According to the insiders, the causes of drought and drought in Sichuan and Jiangxi are the reasons behind them.
However, some people in the industry also analyzed that the severe drought in Southwest China, which lasted for 8 months, had a certain effect on the price of spring cocoons. However, because the main producing areas in Guangxi were less affected and the output of silkworm cocoons in Yunnan was relatively small, the overall production of silkworm eggs in China was not affected by drought.
Gradually reduced mulberry area and cocoon production may be the main reason for the rising price of raw silk materials.
In the final analysis, there are fewer people in sericulture.
According to the statistics of the National Cocoon Silk office, in 2009, the national mulberry garden area was 11 million 974 thousand mu, down 8.5% compared to the same period last year. The output of cocoons was 574 thousand tons, down 17.8% compared with that of the same period last year, and the average purchasing price of cocoons was 1081.76 yuan / weight, up 30.15% over the same period last year.
With the decrease of cocoon production, the income of silkworm farmers increased by 1 billion 251 million yuan compared with that of 2008, and sericultural production showed the characteristics of reducing production and increasing income all year round.
It is reported that the strength of silkworm breeding is very strong. Along with the rising cost of land and labor in the eastern coastal areas of China, some silkworm farmers in the eastern part of the traditional silk producing area gave up planting mulberry and raising silkworms.
In order to adapt to this situation, in 2006, the Ministry of Commerce launched and implemented the project of "moving east to west", and guided the pfer of raw material production base of cocoon and silk industry from the eastern part where land resources are scarce to the central and western inland provinces that are suitable for planting mulberry sericulture in a vast area, climate and soil.
Many people in the industry believe that the implementation of the policy of "moving the east to the west" is successful, not only stabilizing the domestic cocoon output, but also increasing the income of farmers in the inland provinces of the central and western regions.
But at present, the western region is also facing the shortage of silkworm labor.
Sichuan is one of the main producing areas of cocoon raw silk in China. The price of raw silk is also rising all the way. The main reason for the increase in prices is not due to drought, Sichuan provincial chamber of Commerce said.
"In fact, mulberry is a very drought tolerant plant and the impact of drought is relatively small."
The official said that the growth period of silkworms is not long, usually in a month or so.
For a week, silkworms need to eat a lot of mulberry leaves, which requires farmers to supply clean mulberry leaves day and night.
Now the situation is that most young people choose to go out to work.
The shortage of labour is the real reason for Sichuan's two consecutive years of cut production and price increases.
