The competition is guided by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Shandong provincial government and the Art Committee of the Shandong Provincial Education Department, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Tai'an Municipal People's government, the Tai'an Scenic Area Management Committee and the Shandong Vocational Institute of Clothing Technology jointly sponsored by Shandong Vocational Institute of Clothing Technology.

Last year, Shandong Vocational Institute of Clothing Technology hosted the "Shan Yi Cup" fashion modeling Invitational Contest in six provinces and one city in eastern China. The contest has been actively responded by universities across the country, especially the support from universities in Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao.

More than a thousand college students took part in the preliminaries, and 66 players entered the semi-finals. Swimmers, vigor suits and evening dresses were displayed. Finally, 34 players entered the finals.
