The Forum On Food Safety And Health Agrees With The Theme Of "Better City, Better Life".

On the morning of June 6th, the China Europe food safety symposium was held at the European Union Museum in World Expo, Shanghai. From the European Commission's technical research and Development Bureau, the European food safety agency, the European Center for Disease Control and prevention, the European Union Joint Research Center, and the General Administration of China's quality supervision, inspection and quarantine, and the China Institute of inspection and quarantine, the academics and representatives of the Institute of food safety were presented to the central topic on food safety.

Research and development in the field of food safety is the key to ensure continuous improvement of production methods and better protection of animals and plants.

Every year, the EU provides important public funding for projects in the field of food safety. The purpose of this forum is to illustrate the EU's funding and cooperation opportunities, and to show the best examples of EU funding projects in this field.

The EU plays an important role in food safety, through a series of research institutions to coordinate different levels of work in Europe, and to establish working links with other countries, including China.

The topic of food safety, healthy city and healthy life in the forum is very compatible with the theme of "Better City, better life" in World Expo, Shanghai.

The keynote speech entitled "EU's efforts in research and development in the field of food safety", "the role of the European food safety agency in stimulating scientific research" and "new challenges in the field of infectious disease research" were presented by experts attending the meeting, and the topic of "EU research risk assessment - EU risk management process" and "specific partnership between EU and China in better protection of consumers" were discussed.

After the meeting, the EU joint research center signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Academy of inspection and quarantine.
