The Tradition Is Still Changing.
I don't know what we all know about cheongsam.
A waitress in a restaurant?
Is the performance of miss Hongkong's election?
Is the dress worn by the older generation of women in the big reception such as cocktail party, wedding banquet, etc.?
Or some nostalgia in old nostalgia?
However, we will still hear that Qipao can show the beauty of Chinese women, but at the same time, it will also bully people, because you are fat, thin, too tall or too short to dress beautifully, let alone wear the flavor.
Therefore, women who do not wear cheongsam after eighty and ninety are because they are too old-fashioned.
However, cheongsam is not only a simple dress, but the evolution of its style reflects not only the charm of Chinese women's costumes at different times, but also its relationship with social and cultural development from the dress materials, colors, patterns and other related items, such as advertisements and photographs.
Recently, I visited the exhibition of "Chang Chang Xin Qipao variation" jointly organized by the Hongkong Museum of history and the Department of textiles and clothing, Hong Kong Polytech University. After visiting a curator and loaned people, there appeared to be a lot of women wearing different periods and styles of cheongsam, which showed their beauty and charm. Even if they were graceful, they were implicit and restrained, which could be regarded as the highest state of beauty.
Always old and new
If you have visited the exhibition of "Chang Chang Xin Qipao variation", you may be frightened by it, because you can see many cheongsam of various styles, and display it in front of you. Many people may never know that the original cheongsam can have so many colors, materials, patterns, and tailoring. Even ordinary women wearing ordinary Qipao should be shocked by these exhibits.
More than 270 cheongsam treasures from different times and styles will be displayed from today to mid 9 in the Hongkong Museum of history. With the help of about 400 photos and 9 multimedia programs, the exhibition, called the "Chang Chang Xin Qipao variation", will lead you to understand the evolution of cheongsam and let people enjoy the classic charm of Qipao as a Chinese female dress.
Moreover, the exhibition will analyze the construction process of cheongsam from clothing to cultural symbols, and how fashion designers can fashion and modernize them, so that they can continue to develop. After all, many people think cheongsam is the product of the old era, only the older women wear it, but cheongsam can walk the fashion trend.
The cheongsam, which is on display, is very beautiful. It goes back to the Qing dynasty women's gown. Nearly 08 years ago, the cheongsam worn by the etiquette young lady of the Beijing Olympic Games, and the 09 cheongsam accompanied by Gao Kun Huang Meiyun who attended the Nobel presentation ceremony wore all the cheongsam, and there were also many celebrities, including Lin Dai, Josephine Siao, Loletta Chu, Li Xiao and his wife, Hua Huina, Michelle Yeoh, Nansun Shi and so on.
The cheongsam uniform, the cheongsam of the school girls, the cheongsam of "Zhongyi" and the fashion brand "Xia Zi Chen" and "source Blanc de Chine" are also listed in the exhibition.
The Faculty of the textile and clothing department of the University of science and technology has also designed and produced cheongsam works for this exhibition, showing how the new generation of fashion designers can interpret this traditional Chinese costume.
The sense of the times from the Qing Dynasty to the modern age
Cheongsam actually refers to the women's gown of eight banners.
The robes of Manchu are narrower and fit for their nomadic and hunting life forms. But in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, cheongsam also became wide and straight, wide sleeves, long and covered, and more and more attention to details.
After the revolution of 1911, women's chances of receiving education increased, and they began to take part in activities in different fields. Clothing should also be light and simple to facilitate action.
The "civilized new dress" was built up in the first place. Its style was the lower skirt of the upper garment, which was originally used by the students. The wearing of the dresses represents the civilized and modern intellectuals, the image is beautiful, and the urban women imitate each other to make the "civilized new clothes" flourishing in 1910 and 1920s.
In 1920s, a cheongsam, which emerged from Manchu women's robe but mixed with the fashionable elements of contemporary fashion, began to appear. It inherited the characteristics of wide and straight robes, but the skirt rose to the lower leg, exposing the ankles, sleeves short to wrist or elbow, sleeves, collar and skirts only with simple rolling edges, which is the trend of modern cheongsam.
In 1929, the Kuomintang government promulgated a "Regulations on service", which required the cheongsam to be a dress, and the Ministry of education also stipulated that the robe was one of the uniforms of the girls, and its acceptance in the society could be seen.
However, the cheongsam's most popular period should be 1930s, because it has become the most common daily dress for women of different ages and classes.
However, because of the influence of the western idea of narrow and slender, the cheongsam, which was narrow and long to ankle, was popular at that time, and the skirt on both sides of the skirt should also be opened to facilitate walking.
At that time, modern women also liked to wear high heels and looked more slender, graceful and graceful.
In 1920 and 30s, Shanghai was a fashionable place in China, and entertainment industry flourished. Popular actresses, such as Hu Die and Ruan Lingyu, all like to wear cheongsam. Their modern image is often the object of fashion ladies' imitation.
Fashion magazines and calendar paintings at that time displayed fashionable women's ghosts and cheongsam modeling.
Under this social atmosphere, cheongsam shows the ever-changing color and style.
After 1949, fewer and fewer people wore cheongsam in the mainland of China. Especially after 1960s, a large number of western style garments appeared, with much more styles and cheaper prices than the cheongsam made in tailor made.
However, some leaders or leaders wore their cheongsam as a dress and wore it on diplomatic occasions to enhance their significance as a Chinese dress.
When cheongsam was almost disappeared in the mainland, it displayed its different features in different fields in Hongkong, including uniform, restaurant uniform, wedding dress and national costume represented by Hongkong beauty pageant.
Today, cheongsam is recognized as the representative garment of Chinese women.
Many Chinese women choose to wear cheongsam for occasions that are important, special or need to emphasize Chinese identity.
By the middle of 1990s, especially near 1997, cheongsam was once again watching.
At that time, the international fashion industry was blowing up Chinese style. Many fashion designers liked to add the elements of cheongsam to modern design.
Qipao is also in this process of continuous deduction, the new vitality, to continue to develop.
