    In the first half of this year, the total import and export volume of the country reached 13549 billion US dollars, [1], an increase of 43.1% over the same period, of which 705 billion 100 million US dollars were exported, an increase of 35.2%; imports of US $649 billion 800 million, an increase of 52.7%; and a trade surplus of 55 billion 300 million US dollars, a decrease of 42.5%.


    Compared with the same period in 2008, the total import volume increased by 9.8% in the first half of this year.

    Imported

    Exports increased by 14.5% and 5.8% respectively.


    Imports and exports continued to pick up in that month, and exports reached an all-time high.

    In June, the total import and export volume of the country was 254 billion 800 million US dollars, an increase of 4.4%, an increase of 39.2% over the same period last year. Of them, exports were US $137 billion 400 million, an increase of 4.3%, an increase of 43.9% over the same period last year, and the export volume surpassed the historical record of July 2008, a new high; import 117 billion 400 million US dollars, an annulus increase of 4.6%, an increase of 34.1% over the previous year; the realization of a trade surplus of US $20 billion, an increase of 500 million dollars over last month.


    Steel exports continued to grow.

    In the first half of this year, 23 million 580 thousand tons of steel exported, an increase of 152.3% over the same period last year, 120 thousand tons of steel billets exported, 8 million 440 thousand tons of imported steel, an increase of 3.8%, 260 thousand tons of imported billets, and 15 million 970 thousand tons of steel and billet imports and exports of crude steel converted to crude steel (1 million 340 thousand tons of net exports in the same period last year).

    The volume of steel exports has rebounded rapidly since March. In June, the export volume of steel was 5 million 620 thousand tons, the growth rate was 13.8%, the import steel was 1 million 470 thousand tons, the growth rate was 8.1%, the net export of steel and billet converted into crude steel was about 4 million 450 thousand tons, and the growth rate was 16.2%.


    The import of crude oil has increased rapidly, and the import of iron ore has dropped.

    In the first half of this year, 1.2 billion tons of crude oil imported, an increase of 30.2% over the same period, of which 22 million 270 thousand tons were imported in June, with a monthly import volume.

    In the first half of this year, 3.1 million tons of iron ore were imported, an increase of 4.1% over the same period last year. The iron ore imports continued to decline since the two quarter, and 47 million 170 thousand tons of iron ore were imported in June, down 9.1% from last month.


    Copper imports have declined, and aluminum imports have dropped sharply.

    In the first half of the year, imports of 2 million 230 thousand tons of UN wrought copper and copper decreased by 0.2% compared with the same period last year. Imports continued to decline in the two quarter, and 328 thousand tons in June, down 17.3%.

    In the first half of the year, imports of 520 thousand tons of non Forging Aluminum and aluminum materials decreased by 62.6% compared with the same period last year (a higher base last year), of which 75 thousand tons were imported in June, a decrease of 21.1% compared with the same period.

    In the first half of this year, 2 million 350 thousand tons of alumina were imported, down 12.3% from the same period last year, of which only 140 thousand tons were imported in June, the lowest since 2001.


      

    Raw material

    Import prices of products rose sharply.

    In the first half of this year, the average price of crude oil imports rose 63.7% over the same period, the price of iron ore increased by 46.9%, the prices of UN forged copper and copper increased by 70.4%, the prices of forged aluminum and aluminum increased by 88%, alumina prices rose by 45%, and the prices of plastic products of primary form increased by 38%.


      

    Textile and other light industries

    Product exports steadily increased.

    In the first half of the year, exports of textiles, clothing and footwear increased by 32.3%, 16% and 20.8%, respectively, and bags grew by 25%. Plastic products, lamps, toys and furniture grew by 28.2%-33%. Compared with the same period in 2008, the export volume of these products increased by 6.5%-20.1%, of which textiles and clothing increased by 12.4% and 6.5% respectively.

    In June, except furniture exports were basically flat last month, exports of other products increased, compared with last month, of which clothing and footwear grew by 22.3% and 16.3% respectively.


    Exports of electromechanical products continued to improve.

    In the first half of this year, the export volume of mechanical and electrical products was 417 billion US dollars, an increase of 35.9% over the same period last year, and the export volume of high-tech products increased by US $217 billion 400 million, an increase of 40.9%. The export volume of mobile phones, color TV and computers increased by 21%, 51.6% and 47.6% respectively.

    Compared with the same period in 2008, the export volume of electromechanical products and high-tech products increased by 7.2% and 10.8% respectively in the first half of the year, and the exports of mobile phones, color TV and computers increased by 7.5%, 25.2% and 16.7% respectively.

    In June, the export volume of mechanical and electrical products and high-tech products increased by 4.5% and 3.1%, of which the color TV and computer exports increased by 6.9% and 12.9% respectively, and the export volume of mobile phones decreased by 2.3%.
