Successful Production Of Chinese Merino Superfine Wool Woolen Fabric

The Merino super fine wool woollen fabric developed by Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences was successfully produced.

Merino super fine wool is a new strain bred by the breeding of Merino sheep in China. It is cultivated with wool fine gene biological detection technology. Besides having the basic fine characteristics of Chinese Merino sheep, it is more prominent that wool is finer and finer. It can reach more than 80 fingers, and the length of wool fiber is no less than that of the same 70 branches. Therefore, it greatly improves the spinnability and spinning number of domestic wool, and is the leading domestic product. It fills the blank of high quality domestic wool material for the high-end products of wool textile industry.

The trial production of Chinese Merino wool woolen fabrics began in 1988. The first trial produced an average fineness of 23 microns; in 1999, the second time was 21 microns; in 2003, third times was 19 microns.

In 2009, after fourth trial production, the average fineness was 16.77 microns, and the quality of 80 or more tops was achieved.

The trial production of wool products 2260 pieces, weighing a total of 2216 kilograms of wool.

Through the trial production of wool textiles, the Chinese Merino super fine 80 wool has been proved.

The appearance, handle and physical indicators of wool top basically meet the requirements of 80 imported Australian wool tops, and some individual indexes are better than 80 imported Australian wool tops.

In process of production, the dyeing property of process performance is basically the same as that of 80 Australian wool.

The finished worsted fabric has high quality appearance, good elasticity and full fat. It has been well received by customers.

At the same time, it is believed that late management of wool should be strengthened, especially in shearing and sheep marking, so as to further enhance the potential value of 80 wool.
