National Quality Supervision: Formulating Standards For Products Related To Radiation Protection Clothing
The widespread use of household appliances such as computers, induction cooker and microwave ovens has made electromagnetic radiation more and more serious. Electromagnetic wave pollution has become the fourth major source of pollution after air pollution, water pollution and noise pollution. As people's awareness of radiation hazards has deepened, the awareness of radiation protection has been increasing, and radiation protection clothing has been expanding rapidly. A large number of anti radiation clothing have emerged in the market. The quality of these products is uneven. Therefore, it is imperative to work out relevant product standards.
1 electromagnetic radiation Hazards
Generally speaking, the electromagnetic radiation of household electrical appliances is not very harmful to ordinary people, but when the electromagnetic radiation intensity of human body exceeds a certain limit or produces cumulative effects, it will have adverse effects on human health. High intensity electromagnetic radiation can cause a series of discomfort to the human body, especially for the elderly, children, pregnant women and patients and other special populations. [1] is more harmful. In 1998, the WHO listed the five major effects of electromagnetic radiation on human body: 1) electromagnetic radiation is the main inducement of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer mutation; 2) electromagnetic radiation causes damage to human reproductive system, nervous system and immune system; 3) electromagnetic radiation is the inducing factor of maternal abortion, infertility and teratopathy; 4) electromagnetic radiation directly affects children's development, bone marrow development, resulting in decreased vision, retinal detachment and liver hematopoietic function decline; 5) electromagnetic radiation can reduce sexual function, endocrine disorders and menstrual disorders in women.
2 development of radiation protection clothing
2.1 radiation protection fabric and protection mechanism
Beginning in 60 and 70s of twentieth Century, scientists began to search for a good way to shield electromagnetic waves, and electromagnetic shielding clothing came into being [3]. At present, the most common electromagnetic radiation resistant fabrics are metal wire and yarn blended fabric, metal fiber and fiber. Blending Fabric, electroless plating fabric, metal spray fabric and [4], a new type of fabric with high technology content, such as multi ion, multi-element and nanometer material.
The electromagnetic shielding mechanism of metal fiber and conventional fiber blended fabric is mainly based on the conductive function of metal fibers (such as silver, nickel, copper, stainless steel, etc.) or metallized fibers. These conductive metals have strong reflection and absorption effects on electromagnetic waves. When the electromagnetic wave is radiated on the fabric, the uniformly distributed metal or metallized fibers in the fabric become conductive medium and reflect some electromagnetic waves back, reducing the spanmission of electromagnetic waves. At the same time, the electrons in the conductor are induced to form eddy currents under the action of electromagnetic waves. The eddy current conducts heat effect in the conductor, thereby resulting in the loss of electromagnetic waves. With the increase of conductive fiber content in the fabric, the stronger conductivity, the stronger the reflectivity, the more vortex formation, the more multiplicity reflection, and the smaller the electromagnetic wave permeability, the better the shielding effect is. [5-6] At present, the more high-end products are made of silver fiber fabrics. Because of the good conductivity of silver fiber, its shielding effectiveness is much better than other fibers. However, because of the high price and the restrictions on the use of silver by the state, the general wage earners can only enjoy a wide range of popularity. At present, the wire used in electromagnetic shielding fabric is mostly made of copper, nickel and stainless steel fibers. Among them, the preparation technology of stainless steel fiber is relatively mature, and the price is low, and its shielding effect is excellent.

Because the opening and the gap of clothing will affect their efficacy to a certain extent, therefore, in the structural design of radiation protection clothing, we should minimize the number and area of the opening, reduce the stitching between the pieces, and make the shielding effect of the radiation protection reach the best condition. Properly lengthen garment length and sleeves, tighten necklines, cuffs and hem as much as possible, and thicker garment fabrics to form a relatively closed space for radiation protection, which can withstand strong penetration of electromagnetic waves. The design of pregnant women's protective clothing can be placed on the upper part of the body, and plucked or lace on the wide clothing, and local embroidery techniques are used to attract people's attention to the decorative parts, and consider the pregnant women's body changes in various periods, especially in the latter part of pregnancy, as far as possible to make them easy to wear; the radiation protection underwear emphasizes the soft and comfortable fabric, and the women's underwear is as good as possible, reflecting the graceful figure of the female, and the children and men's underwear are relatively comfortable and comfortable. Of course, the design of radiation protection clothing should also improve clothing design and clothing comfort from the aspects of heat preservation, permeability, light weight, wear and tear, and so on, so that radiation protection clothing will be recognized by more and more people.

The increasing demand for radiation protection clothing is one of the important reasons for the rapid development of radiation protection products. The categories of anti radiation clothing include underwear, vest, belly pocket, maternity dress, shirt, vest and so on. With the emphasis on eugenics and prenatal care, pregnant women's radiation protection clothing has been widely popularized. Almost every pregnant woman will choose a radiation protection clothing for pregnant women as the first barrier to protect the baby. At present, the radiation protection clothing sold on the market is hundreds of yuan, or even thousands of yuan, and the ordinary consumers do not have a correct understanding of the radiation protection products. Subjectively, the higher the price is, the better the quality is. The thicker the fabric is, the more obvious the radiation protection effect is. The longer the style is, the more it can resist the harm of radiation. What kind of styles others buy will follow suit, and which brand will be concerned about which brand. Although manufacturers and distributors can produce test reports to persuade consumers to believe in the performance of products, few people take a serious look at the test reports, and the samples identified in general reports are fabrics, not clothing. The inspection report of fabric samples can not represent the protective function of radiation proof clothing. So even if the fabrics used by these anti radiation clothing are very effective in shielding electromagnetic radiation, they can shield more than 99% of electromagnetic wave energy. After being made into different styles of clothing, the real shielding effectiveness can not be known to [8].
At present, our country only has the test method standard of the radiation protection performance test, and the related product standards are far from keeping pace with the development of the industry. In order to reduce the harm of electromagnetic radiation to human body, prevent electromagnetic radiation pollution, protect people's health, standardize the market of radiation protection clothing, actively guide healthy consumption, protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, the formulation of relevant standards for radiation protection clothing products has important practical significance and far-reaching influence.
4 formulation of standards for radiation protection clothing
At present, people can detect the shielding performance of radiation shielding fabrics, but there are loopholes in the shielding effectiveness of fabrics made of clothing. It is suggested that the testing and research institutions with the ability to undertake inspection be fully concerned about the performance test of the radiation proof clothing, and try to simulate the real test space. Under the design conditions of radiation level, illumination, temperature and humidity and other indicators, the human body model in the confined space is put on the radiation protection clothing, and the electromagnetic waves of different intensity are emitted by the antenna. According to the strength of the received signal placed inside the body, the radiation protection performance is identified, and the real shielding effectiveness of the radiation shielding clothing is obtained, [5].
5 Conclusion
With the increasing attention to health, people's demand for radiation protection clothing is also increasing. The relevant departments should pay great attention to this, so that the revision of relevant standards will keep pace with the pace of industrial development, better regulate industrial development and guide healthy consumption.
