Investors are remarking their interest in relocating their products to Thailand, following the gradual emergence of a labor strike in China, said Japanese business minister Porntiva Nakasai.
She learned that Japanese companies had other options, including Vietnam, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
Chinese factory workers are more bold in demanding better wages and working conditions because they know more about their rights and lack of part of orange labor.
The result is a rise in industrial upheaval, whether it is a foreign factory or a factory owned by China.
China's clothing and textile factories have gone on strike several times in recent months.
The Wan Tai Group in Zaozhuang, Shandong is affected by collective labor strikes, while workers in Pingdingshan cotton factories demand better wages.
Hundreds of workers in a Japanese electronics factory in Tianjin and workers at a TOYOTA auto parts supply factory also went on strike in recent weeks.
The president of the Japan Textile Federation said that Thailand has more competitive advantages than these candidate countries. Thailand has quality production technology, expertise and design.
Thailand has also prepared a complete set.
Supply chain
Covering the upstream, middle and lower reaches, it has greater competitive advantages in terms of geography, logistics and human resources.
In the industrial sector, the textile industry is considered to have achieved the largest growth. According to the Japan Thailand economic partnership agreement, tariff reduction has been effective since November 2007, because the Japan Textile Federation has actively helped Thailand operators in market access and technical cooperation.
However, Porntiva Nakasai said that Thailand's textile industry needs to be upgraded so that if it attracts more Japanese investment, it will become an Asian leader.
The Thailand government itself must ensure that investment promotion policies continue, even if the government changes.
In the first 6 months of this year, Thailand exported 9 billion 390 million US dollars to Japan, an increase of 32% over the same period last year.
