Review: Import And Export Of Textiles And Garments From China In 2009

In 2009, the United States imported textiles and clothing from China for 31 billion 759 million US dollars, down 2.81% compared to the same period last year, with an import volume of 20 billion 719 million square meters, a slight increase of 0.52% over the same period last year, which is 1.9 percentage points higher than that in 2009 (-1.38%).
From the overall situation of imports, the import situation of clothing products is better than that of non clothing products.
In 2009, the United States imported clothing from China for 23 billion 503 million US dollars, an increase of 2.53% over the same period last year, with an import volume of 8 billion 623 million square meters, an increase of 10.71% over the same period last year. The import of non clothing products was 8 billion 257 million US dollars, down 15.37% over the same period last year, and the import volume was 12 billion 96 million square meters, down 5.67% from the same period last year.

Judging from the amount of imports, the four categories of cotton products only showed a weak growth trend, an increase of 6.34% over the same period. The gross products, chemical fiber products, silk and plant fiber products all showed a downward trend, down 24.29%, 3.84% and 40.46% respectively.
Compared with 1-11 months in 2009, the growth rate was 0.71, 0.97 and 0.11 percentage points respectively.

Clothing: volume growth rate higher than the amount of growth
In 2009, the amount and volume of clothing imported from the United States increased by 2.53% and 10.71% respectively over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.67 and 1.19 percentage points higher than that in 2009, 1-11.
The growth rate of imports is faster than that of imports.
From the perspective of import amount, four categories two liters and two drops.
Cotton clothing and chemical fiber clothing showed an increasing trend, up 13.44% and 1.92% respectively, compared with 1-11 months in 2009, the growth rate was 0.58 and 0.41 percentage points respectively.
Garments made of woolen garments, silk and vegetable fiber still showed a downward trend, down 22.44% and 38.27% respectively compared with the same period last year. Compared with 1-11 months in 2009, the gross garment growth rate was 0.89 percentage points higher, and the growth of silk and plant fiber clothing was 0.03 percentage points lower.
The declining trend of clothing made of silk and vegetable fiber is still very obvious.

Cotton clothing and chemical fiber clothing increased by 9.27% and 18.74% respectively, compared with 1-11 months in 2009, the growth rate was 1.78 and 0.82 percentage points respectively.
Garments made from wool, silk and plant fiber decreased by 12.61% and 38.02% respectively compared with that of 1-11 months in 2009. Their growth rates were 1.08 and 1 percentage points respectively.
In 2009, the number of garments imported from the United States slowly increased, but the trend of silk and plant fiber clothing did not ease much.

Non clothing category: the downward trend is obviously slowing down.
In 2009, the import of non clothing products from the United States continued to show a downward trend, and the import volume and volume decreased by 15.37% and 5.67% respectively compared with the same period in 2009. The growth rate was 1.51 and 2.33 percentage points higher than that in 2009, respectively.
From the product category, the four kinds of products showed a downward trend, both in terms of quantity and quantity.

Compared with 1-11 months in 2009, import yarn amount and volume increased by 35.47 and 2.11 percentage points respectively.
