This year, the World Trade Organization (WTO) member states have increased all kinds of technical trade measures.

    according to

    Ningbo

According to statistics of WTO Office of the inspection and Quarantine Bureau, only 1898 in the first half year, an increase of 23.17% over the previous year. Most of these technical measures involve safety and energy conservation, most of which are related to Ningbo enterprises.

Safety and energy efficiency of mechanical and electrical products

Electromechanical products are important in our city.

    Commodity.

In the first 7 months of this year, the inspection and Quarantine Department of Ningbo passed 174063 batches of export mechanical and electrical products, involving an amount of 5 billion 200 million dollars, accounting for 57% and 59% of the export products respectively.

The main exports of electromechanical products in our city are the European Union, the United States and Japan, all of which are the "worst hit areas" of technical barriers to trade.

In the first half of the year, EU ErP directive treats products that are shut down.

The five categories of products, such as set-top boxes, fluorescent lamps and external power supply, have put forward higher environmental protection requirements. At the same time, they have also issued detailed rules for the implementation of products such as washing machines, dishwashers and non residential fans. They not only require energy consumption of products, but also control environmental impact items such as hazardous substances.

In terms of energy efficiency, all continents have launched plans or directives to reduce energy efficiency.

In the first half of the year, the United States announced a comprehensive revision and strengthening of the "Energy Star" plan certification requirements, to ensure that only products that meet the requirements of the plan can be attached to the "Energy Star" label, and has issued new energy saving standards or testing procedures for commercial washing machines, stepping refrigerators and freezers, and household air conditioners.

The European Parliament has passed the EU's new energy labeling directive, which requires energy consumption rating on household appliances and advertising, brochures and manuals. Germany has announced the implementation of the "Blue Angel" green logo certification system. The first batch of products includes TV sets, DVD, Blu ray disc players and so on.

New Zealand has revised the mandatory water saving labeling system for washing machines, dishwashers and toilet facilities.

Saudi Arabia has only allowed energy-efficient home appliances to enter the market since May.

Children's product safety is highly valued.

In the past ten years since China's entry into the WTO, the international community's requirements for the safety of children's products have been increasing year by year, especially in the first half of this year.

In the first half of the year, the United States, the European Union, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates made mandatory standards and limits on toxic and harmful substances for baby walkers, cots, children's jewelry, clothing, toys and school supplies.

At the same time, the research on bisphenol A (BPA) in developed countries has made further progress. Denmark, France and the 6 states in the United States have banned the use of BPA in baby bottles and sports kettle.

The United States, the European Union and other places are the main destinations for export toys in our city.

From January to July this year, the Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau examined 13 thousand and 200 batches of children's products, including toys, children's cars, children's beds, etc., amounting to US $226 million, accounting for 3.99% and 2.34% of the total exports respectively.

The deepening of technical barriers to trade since the first half of this year is bound to have a great impact on many toy manufacturers in our city.

Safety and energy saving are the key to the quality of our export products.

In the first half of this year, safety and energy conservation is the core of all the technical trade measures launched by various countries, and safety and energy conservation are also the key to the quality of our export products.

According to the State General Administration of quality inspection received by the Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in the first half of this year, the EU, the United States and Canada issued 820 non conforming notifications for China's export of non food products, an increase of 13.10% over the same period in 2009, of which more than half of children's products accounted for more than half. For small parts and rope pulling, the risk of suffocation and strangulation was high, and the content of toxic and harmful substances such as lead and o-phenyl two formate exceeded the standard. About 20% of the electromechanical products accounted for 20% of the risks. The risk was mainly caused by electric shock, fire and burns.

During this period, 61 of Ningbo's export products were reported unqualified abroad, representing an increase of 51.22% over the same period last year, of which 38 were produced in Ningbo, and the reasons for being unqualified were basically consistent with the situation in the whole country.

In response, the Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau said: "the enterprises in our city should respond to foreign technical barriers to trade, especially in children's products, electrical and electronic products, textile and clothing and food, enhance the technological content of mechanical and electrical products, and enhance their environmental protection and energy efficiency."
