    Analysis: Textile Exports To The United States Show A Resumption Of Growth

    China's textile and clothing exports to the United States showed marked signs of recovery in 1~7 months. The main reason is that the first half of the US market is mainly to replenishment of stocks, leading to the export of textiles and garments to China. On the other hand, the competitiveness of China's textile and clothing products is still strong, and the rigid demand of textile products in the US market promotes its import of more textile products in China.


    Exports of textile products to the United States increased significantly.


    According to our customs statistics, the export volume of textiles and clothing to the United States in 2010 1~7 was 18 billion 979 million US dollars, an increase of 29.66% over the same period last year, the growth rate was 1.17 percentage points higher than that in 1~6 months, and exports to the United States accounted for 16.85% of the total export volume of China's textile products.

    Among them, the amount of textile exports to the United States was 5 billion 859 million dollars, an increase of 36.48% over the same period last year, and the amount of clothing exports to the United States was 13 billion 121 million dollars, an increase of 26.82% over the same period last year, and the growth rate increased by 1.71 percentage points and 1.09 percentage points respectively over 1~6 months.

    In the month of July, the export volume of textiles and clothing to the United States amounted to US $3 billion 990 million, an increase of 15.79% over the same period last year and a 15.77% increase over the same period.

    Among them, textiles exports to the US $1 billion 65 million, an increase of 6.82% over the same period, an increase of 6.82% over the same period, and apparel exports to the United States of US $2 billion 924 million, an increase of 19.40% over the same period last year, a 19.42% increase in the ring.


     

    China's textile and clothing exports to the United States showed obvious signs of recovery. On the one hand, the first half of the US market was mainly to replenishment of stocks, which led to the export of textiles and garments to China. On the other hand, the competitiveness of China's textile and clothing products was still strong, and the rigid demand of textile products in the US market pushed it to import more textile products in China.

    Of course, the short-term replenishment of the US market is a short term action. It lacks strong support for the purchasing power of consumers. Therefore, from the US export data of China's textile products in the month of July, we can see that the year-on-year growth rate and the growth rate of the ring have slowed down compared with the previous month.

    According to statistics from the US Department of textiles and clothing office (OTEXA), the export market share of textiles and garments in the US in the first half of 2010 was 37.85% in the US.

    According to the Statistics Center of China Textile Industry Association, the price index of textile and clothing exports to the United States reached 1~7 100.26% and 99.77% respectively this year, representing an increase of 5.34 percentage points and 7.82 percentage points over the same period last year, an increase of 1.44 percentage points and 1.42 percentage points higher than the 1~6 month export price index.

    Judging from the current situation of China's export price index, China still maintains certain price competitive advantages.

    However, we should also see that the export price competitive advantage will be weakened due to the increase of export tax rebate rate, cost increase and RMB appreciation.

    Therefore, it is more important to speed up the structural adjustment of export commodities, enhance the non price competitiveness of export enterprises, and take the road of branding and differentiation.
